Raiders not done making changes

07:49 AM ET 11.07 | The Raiders registered quite the temblor when they released cornerback DeAngelo Hall on Wednesday, an 8.0 in terms of millions paid for eight games of service. Thursday brought the aftershocks - minor in comparison, but with just enough oomph to create some locker-room jitters. Interim coach Tom Cable announced more lineup changes, with the most striking being that second-year player Mario Henderson will share playing time with left tackle Kwame Harris against the visiting Panthers on Sunday. He also said little-used safety Rashad Baker will get a chance to play in nickel packages ahead of former No. 7 overall draft pick Michael Huff, who was demoted from starter last month. Also, nickel cornerback Stanford Routt volunteered to reporters that he'd been benched - another reason Chris Johnson will start opposite cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

For the sake of Raiders fans, the big change they need to make is to bury Al Davis 50 feet under the endzone. Then they can further inspire touchdowns by telling the Wide Receivers that when they score...they get to dance a little celebration dance over his grave.

Right on Hortag...It is sad to see Raider nation in disarray

November 7, 2008  08:58 AM ET

until al is willing to replace himself. its more of the same for the raiders.

November 7, 2008  09:06 AM ET

Wow, poor poor Radiers. Ought to be interesting to watch.

I hope Al Davis dies soon

*chokes on his cereal* funny!!!

Al Davis....please leave the game. You are making it (and your team) a laughing stock.

November 7, 2008  10:05 AM ET

When you have a system that is as flawed as the Raiders, you could put Superman on the team and still lose every game. Teams that want to sign good players cheap should shop with the Raiders. They have many outstanding players that look like trash, only because they are being coached and managed by an incredibly incompotent system.

This would be good if fans could join in the celebrations too. Season ticket sales would reach an all-time high!

Ken Stabler will start at QB this weekend if you ask Al. He still thinks Marcus Allen is lined up in the backfield too. As a Panthers fan, let Tom Cable try all the moronic substitutions he wants. We will still end up pimp-smacking these clowns on Sunday.

Watching a Raiders game is like playing Madden on easy mode. -2 yards at halftime??? C'mon.....

while that is a bit harsh it is true because it is the only way he will remove himself from that position and allow someone else to have a shot.

Well this is a start and it could not be any worse--turn 'em all loose and see who truly has heart and WANTS to play. Not just collect a pay check.

Everyone in Raider Nation needs to get a grip, Davis isn't going anywhere, his mom lived to be 103. The only way he is going away would be a crazy person assassinating him. So with that said, here are the other moves that need to happen!!

#1 Release Javon Walker (finished and will save money)
#2 Release Tommy Kelly (save as much money as they can. Kelly happens to be a decent DT, but no where worth what they paid for him)
#3 Trade Justin Fargas in the off-season (get whatever they can for him)
#4 Trade Michael Huff in the off-season (same principle from above)
#5 Draft a QB in the 3rd-5th round and bring in someone to complete with Russell and maybe put a fire under his ****, or put on the bench.
#6 Use all possible draft picks on DL and OL for the next 3 years.

Thugmeister, like the Avatar. A needed Friday laugh.

He (The Al-Mighty) let all those comments about him being a "Football God" in the late 1970's go to his head. Now all he has are those memories and a few cases of 'depends', sadly he thinks they are reusable. P-U

My sentiments EXACTLY...It is getting really hard to tell people I am a Raider's fan without getting some form of snicker or comment...people say I would be better off choosing a high school team as my fav (not a bad idea right now, huh?)

More talent disappears in Oakland than anywhere else...
