USC's Sanchez grits way through practice
USC quarterback Mark Sanchez overcame a dislocated kneecap in training camp and other physical setbacks to enter Saturday's game against California as the Pacific 10 Conference's passing efficiency leader. Sanchez, however, turned in perhaps his grittiest performance of the season during practice Thursday after suffering an ankle injury, apparently during warmups. Sanchez missed a few early drills while getting his ankle and foot taped, and then rejoined the workout with his shoe wrapped to the size of a small football. The junior took all of the first-team snaps, but hobbled on rollouts after handoffs, grimaced repeatedly when out of view from teammates and conversed several times with team trainers. Coach Pete Carroll said he was unaware of any problem with the quarterback, who has recently been counseled by offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian to keep his emotions in check while moving from one play to the next.

USC, The best team personnel ways by far of any team in the nation, is blessed with the best "back-up" QB in college football... Mitch Mustain, who for any other team would be a top 5 pick for the H T... I don't think that Coach Carroll will lose mutch sleep over Sanchez' "injury"..

It's sad to see Sanchez like this; I like him as a player and a person.

"The size of a small football"....that doesn't make sense. It's either the size of a football or it's not. You couldn't come up with something else to equate it to?
Wow, that zit on your head is the size of a tiny skyscraper!
^ BTW Chase Utley is from UCLA :D

Huh? Is this a joke? 2 week ago Mustain was a 4th stringer. He is pretty good at times but let's not get carried away. He did get benched at Arkansas.

Maybe they should've said the size of Nerf Football (do they still make those?).
Chicks tell me my **** is the size of a small skyscraper, if that gives you any perspective on your second point (and I use that word loosely).

Mustain really wasn't 4th string several weeks ago. I think the coaches were just playing some motivation games in their own way. He is clearly the most experienced of the other QB's, although Aaron Corp may be the best athlete/runner, and Green looked the best in the pre-season scrimmage when he ran the second team.
