Mavericks owner Mark Cuban remains as interested as ever in buying the Cubs, dismissing a report that Major League Baseball might not want him as an owner. According to a Chicago Sun-Times report that cited a baseball source, there was "zero chance" of Cuban taking over the Cubs. The Sun-Times source said the Internet billionaire would meet with resistance in trying to get approval from Major League Baseball. Cuban wouldn't comment on the report before the Mavericks played Denver last night.

Hendry has produced just fine, the team has been to the post season in consecutive years, they just need to have some guys do something in the playoffs!

I thought the owner of the Cubs was the one selling it not MLB.

MLB is the business. The teams are franchises of that business. You can sell a franchise; but, only with the approval of the parent business. Just like with McDonalds and Burger King.

The other owners do get to decide the sale of teams. They can't set the price; but, they can veto the sale. What can you say. This is a legal monopoly.

Well he's a MULTI-BILLIONAIRE the chances are POSSIBLE rather than IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This aint sarcasm but thank you very much I was actually rather lost in this while fiasco.

Maybe he needs to start leaving some bodies along the side of the road, and get someone's attention in the process. This is what's known as Community Organizing in Chicago!

I sincerely hope the "MLB source" on Mr. Cuban having "zero chance" is totally wrong. The thought of an investor group taking over the Cubs leaves with the taste of bile in my mouth... Mark Cuban would be the best thing to happen to the Chicago Cubs since Dallas Green and the best thing to happen to baseball since the new stadiums (starting with Camden Yards) stopped being atro-turfed, concrete monstrocities and went retro and cozy. Selig, Reinsdorf, and their good old boy network need to clear Mr. Cuban a seat at the table. Having a WS contender in Chicago on the North Side is one of the single most profitable things that could happen in MLB today. How many 'investor group' owners have teams over .500 these days? Check for yourself.

Well if Cuban can not get the Cubs try the Dolphins, quite possibly an easier catch although not the same kudos.
The sooner the passive aggressive Selig is tossed the better, despicable human being.

Where's that little b*i*t*c*h dustygrady at? Funny how he's been MIA and hasn't posted a damn anything on these blogs since August 31st!

Let's review the smack that came out of his mouth before his Cubs got their **** swept for the second year in a row:

"It will certainly be a big laugh when the CUBS win the world series and he loses the election." August 30, 2008 12:20 PM ET

"When the Cubs are in the World Series waiting for those pathetic White Sox to show up to face them and they never do, Who will be laughing then? After the Cubs win it this year any of "Team Obama's" past achievments will be completely wiped out and forgotten. The same with Obama himself." August 30, 2008 01:09 PM ET

"When the Cubs are waiting in the World Series this year for those punk coward White Sox and they don't show up because they're too afraid who will be laughing then? Your feeble championship of three years ago will no longer mean ANYTHING after cub fans are rubbing it in your face day and night when they win the World Series this year."
August 30, 2008 07:07 PM ET

"Anyway, I love the way the Red Sox are exposing your pathetic team as the frauds they really are, and the Twins have always had a history of passing the Sox right by. Expect it to happen again this September." August 30, 2008 11:49 PM ET

Last I checked, 1) the Cubs never came close to the World series, 2) the Twins didn't beat the Sox for the divison title, and 3) Obama beat the "war hero" all over the electoral map.

That makes him 0-3.

Whenever he climbs out from under the rock he's been hiding under waiting to grow a pair, tell him I'm looking for him ...

Just like I said I would be when the Cubs choked again.
