Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been alerted that long-term United target Karim Benzema will be up for grabs next summer. A deal worth worth around 20m should seal a move from under the noses of Arsenal. Lyon have finally accepted they cannot hang on to the talented striker. Barcelona and Real Madrid will also be interested.

I would like to see him with United but not so sure where he fits in with Rooney, Berbatov, and Tevez.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him at Madrid though.

If he comes in, it means Tevez is gone. They're both box players, him and Berbatov would keep bumping into eachother. I'm still not totally sold on Nani, I'd prefer them to look at another winger and maybe someone to replace Hargreaves who could be done.

Wow, United are in for Benzema? We haven't heard that a billion times already. What top team in Spain, England or Italy doesn't want him? Come on now, Fannation, this one's been around for ages.

Maybe Anderson can fill in for Hargreaves and I like this Rafael kid. I think he could play defensive midfield instead of right back.

I agree with your assesment of Tevez. If they did bring in anyone else up front he would have to go.

Anderson is more of a Scholes replacement. That is, if the boy could ever learn to hit the goal with a shot! Carrick is great at spraying the ball and sitting behind the attacker, but he lacks the motor that Hargreaves has. But there's no way I'd move Rafael. That's why the Hargreaves role is so important, if he's pushed way up helping the wingers, Hargreaves (or someone playing the same position as he does) can slot back so they won't be caught out. United were a different team attacking wise when the kid came on Saturday, he's going to be something special along with his brother.

benzema with rooney, berbatov, ronaldo, tevez if he stays, plus the plethora of attacking mids that love to push up? he will have a hard time getting the ball. plus, i like Benzema, and also have a hard time pulling for Man U, so i hope he goes elsewhere. (don't get me wrong tho, i do have a large amount of respect for United... i just cant get behind them)

Again with this rumor. Who doesn't want Benzema. I hope Madrid gets him. He's a good long-term signing for the team. He can form a nice partnership w/ Higuain up front

No way Benzema comes to United without major shakes ups. All previous assessments are spot on. If for some reason Hargreaves IS gone, we have to get someone in midfield much quicker than in attack. I agree completely that Rafael is going to be amazing if everything goes according to plan and development. Nani infuriates me more than he impresses me (I don't know how many times I find myself saying "We've don't need a faux-Ronaldo wannabe out there...) If we can get Tevez sorted and develop a way for the 3 main forwards to mesh than we won't need Benzema. I think using Nani for transfer bait isn't a completely bad idea if there were someone valuable enough to gain by doing it- as it looks now though there doesn't seem to be.

benzema to manchester , which pushes tevez out and into madrid...i think i might work

Benzema is going nowhere, he is on his way to stay with Lyon right now. He is the star player of the French League which gives him a good spot in the national team.

Plus his team is playing in the CL with at least a second round game every year if not better.

Plus, he is the star of the team, he is still young and my guess is even him doesn't want to go in madrid, MU or Arsenal before a few more years in France.

Unfortunatley, I agree. I begged for Tevez since his move to Corinthians, when other people would silence me thinking he's worthless. We finally made a move for him, and I loved it. But his form has been suspect of late and if he can't turn it around, we may have to go for Benzema. But he's still only 24, give him time, he hasn't hit his prime yet.

I doubt Benzema and Berba will play together much. It's more like who's gonna pair with Rooney. Nani is 21! You don't need to be sold on him. Selling Nani would possibly be the biggest mistake Ferguson could make. He's better than Cristiano at the same age. He may not have the height or strength, but he has everything else, and will make an incredible left winger for the future. Some of his performances have been excellent, he just needs to be more consisitent. Buying another winger would be a waste, especially with giggs and park there.

I really hope Hargreaves isn't done, just because he probably is our most important CM. He really knows how to handle all different kinds of European attacks, and at the edge of the box he is a much more deadly freekick taker than Ronaldo. We don't have another great defensive defense stuffing middy like him.

If Man United sign Benzema - Berbatov will be gone. It will take half a season for Berbatov to start crying and sulking. Then he'll be off to La Liga.

I think Benzeema must come to the soccer university, Real Madrid. He must come if he wants to be a good player for everor if he wants to be a world best player.Madrid and France, we are moving forward. We dont fear any team.

Um..., not anymore. If he wants to develop in a mega star, a place like United or Arsenal is where young players should go. Real are crap these days and can't develop well. They buy 27 year olds for 30 mil, cant do anything with a 21 year old. The best players run through the best systems. Head to Barcelona, they will do more with him than Real. At Real he will be wasted, like Diarra or Gago, who should be much better than they are now.

Lol. I think Fergie loves him too much to not start him for at least half the time
