Warriors president dismisses front-office turmoil

Warriors President Robert Rowell insisted Monday that there won't be any group-therapy sessions on tap for the team's evolving front office. "The reality is we're on the same page with respect to pretty much everything that we're doing now," said Rowell, who shook up management last week by firing Chris Mullin's right-hand man and replacing him with Don Nelson's. How then, does Rowell assess his product with the Warriors off to a bumpy start and three starters injured in Monta Ellis, Corey Maggette and Al Harrington? "We're 2-5 right now, so I'll assess it on our record," Rowell said. "When it comes to talent, I think those are questions you need to ask Chris and Don and Larry." That would be the Warriors' new-look triumvirate of Mullin, the team's vice president, Nelson, the head coach, and assistant general manager Larry Riley, whom Rowell promoted after firing Pete D'Alessandro. Rowell refused to address the front-office shift, but it's clear that he believes Riley, the former director of player personnel with the Vancouver Grizzlies, is a needed addition.

Fans careless about the front office. Get some real players and stop filling our ears with names of men in suite. Can they hit a junk shot? Can Nellie dunk? We need entertainment - not news of old men fighting for money and power. It's getting old and childish.

QUOTE(#1):

Get some real players

Thay actually have some above average talent.....
problem is they are too OVERLOADED with the same
type of player - jumpshooting forwards.
- so the problem IS management-

Rowell is either a liar, or he's delusional. This team is a mess.

Cohan should replace Rowell with someone who has a team oriented style. Hire people to do their job and allow them to do it without interfering. He has made a mess of the Warriors and should be held accountable.
