Obama in the house for Howard-Oregon State?
The Howard University men's basketball team is preparing for a season opener unlike any in the history of the program. Inside tiny Burr Gymnasium on Friday night, a few thousand spectators will be less interested in watching the Howard-Oregon State game than they will be in watching who else might be watching the game, namely President-elect Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama, whose brother is first-year Oregon State Coach Craig Robinson. Since the schedule was released in late summer, Howard students have been abuzz over whether the Obamas would be in attendance, and Howard Athletic Director Dwight Datcher said yesterday there remains a possibility that either or both Obamas could make their way to the 2,700-seat gymnasium. He expects to know by tomorrow.

This isn't a story. If he goes it's to support his brother in law. If he doesn't go, he just doesn't go.

It may not have any meaning to all you uppity folks who didn't say a word when they had George W. & Laura Bush at Texas games holding up the Longhorn sign. But as a Howard alumnus when I was in school, which is IN DC, I couldn't hope to see a president.

When his majesty, Crown prince Obama, walks in will they strew his path with palm branches and rose petals? Sure he can guarantee a win. All he has to do is hold his hands aloft and the opposing defense will part allowing Howard to shoot 100% from the floor.
