The Denver Nuggets, who twice before considered deals for Zach Randolph, are believed to be keeping an eye on his performance this season, as are the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls.

What are they expecting to see. He has averaged double double in years before.

If only he played defense. He could be a superstar.

November 13, 2008  08:53 AM ET

Willie Randolph would hate playing for the Bulls and Cavaliers.

The Bulls have needed inside scoring forever, but if I was the Knicks I would make a deal with the Cavs. Randolph for Big Ben works straight up and it gives them future cap flexibility with Wallace's deal coming off the books.

Look we all know Z-Bo has had his problems in the past but he's been actually very quiet since he came to the Knicks off the court, while bringing his 20-10 game on the court. The Knicks could deal him but only in the right deal.

Yes Big Ben would give them cap room, but it would put knick fans in the rubber room. A front court of Lee, Big Ben and Malik Rose off the bench??? Big Ben does not even play defense the way he used to.

damn i'm tired of hearing about other teams who have already made deals, who are looking toward free agency next offseason too, and they are making moves....look...Detroit, great team, but added Iverson. Celtics, tried Miles, trying to get McDyess, trying...Hornets got Posey. Spurs went after a few players that other teams got...What the hell is Riley waiting for? A lot of teams are looking toward next season, but they are still make moves. A lot of top teams who look like they wouldn't need to make moves (like the above mentioned...there have been many more like Philadelphia, Golden State, Clippers, etc, even New York picking up Duhon), so why isn't the Heat who desperately needs to make moves. Everyday I lose a little more respect for Pat Riley and the person he works for: his ego. Hell, I would even rather have a true center in Curry who has scoring skill and give up Blount...Whip Curry into Shape...Trade Blount straight up for Curry...Knicks would love to get rid of him. Blount looks slow and I mean on the mental side. He plays soft like he doesn't understand he's 7 ft tall...any point is Miami should be looking at Randolph...he's plays inside the paint. he's tough and physical on offense. work with him on defense...obviously being a defensive team is working out for us. how about being a balanced team...

obviously being a defensive team ISN'T working out for us. how about being a balanced team...

It's one season. Plus D'Antoni doesn't even have to play the guy. It's for cap flexibility only. The days of trading contracts and getting back even larger contracts are over.

A sack off practice balls and a box of scrap metal?

November 13, 2008  10:19 AM ET

The Bulls could offer Nocioni and Ben Gordon. That would equal Randolph's deal.

November 13, 2008  10:36 AM ET

Randolph's only problem on the court is his lack of defense. Off the court, there is a history of character issues. I'm not sure either of these issues will change. Cleveland doesn't have anything to trade, and addressing his defense (or lack thereof) may be a bit much for a rookie coach. Having said that, Randolph could be an assett if.....

With the way Zach is playing in the new system he aint going nowhere. Besides no super star will come to the Knicks if they do not have a formidable low post force. Players of Zach's kind are rare and the Knicks are sure keeping him.

Before the season started the Knicks were looking at a major overhaul that's why Randolph was on the block but with the way the team has adjusted to Mike's system they only need one super star so all they have to do is be 20 - 25 mil under the cap by 2011.

The only players killing the Knicks cap are Marbury, Jerome James & Curry.

Marbury's contract expires at the end of this season; Jerome James next season. So the real problem is fat Eddy.

If we get rid of him for a contract that expires in or before 2011 we are golden. The Clippers can help by trading Camby for Eddy straight up!

So from a cap perspective the Knicks are not in bad shape at all. Eddy whether in shape or not puts our cap in bad shape.

he's played VERY well- no doubt- and I'm surprised
(in a good way)
That being said- the knicks do want to unload any & all
contracts, so him being off the table - I don't believe

Hey man, I hope you are not implying that Portland was the reason Z-Bo had off court issues in the past. LOL
