NASCAR putting brakes on new Nationwide car
From comments made by NASCAR Chairman Brian France at Phoenix it appears the Nationwide Series will not be moving to its new car anytime soon. NASCAR conducted two tests this season with the car, at Richmond and Charlotte, and appeared to be making great strides in its development. However, the cost of a changeover - difficult to bear at any time - may just be too much in the current economic climate to justify the move anytime soon. That's too bad as the new car may be just what the series needs to forge its own identity.

Just what we don't need, another COT. Start letting everyone drive like in the Truck series, and it just might be interesting again.

EXCELLENT!!! Forging it's own identity means actually leaving the cars as unique as possible and NOT going to a cookie cutter body so we can root for stickers and paint schemes. I know it is all about the powerplant...but until they put that outside the hood asthetics are all we have. LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE!!! It is getting to the point where I would rather watch the Nationwide series for the simple fact that it is as close to "old school" real racing we can get.

This decision is driven solely by the economy. When things are back on the upswing, you will see the COT in Nationwide. Like they say, " it's the economy, stupid"

Stupid?? Look toolbox, it was an opinion of which everyone has a right to. You want to play the name game head on back to the World of Warcraft chat boards and get out your frustrations on kids your own age...let the adults talk please.

TCK Nobody was talking to you. If you think the word stupid was directed at you, oh well.
"It's the economy stupid is a tried and true expression used at all times to refer to the economy. Maybe, if you read something other than Mad magazine, you would realize what I was saying.

It's the economy stupid is a tried and true expression used at all times to refer to the economy. ---> Maybe in the hills of Kentucky, but where I come from civil people don't need to use the term "stupid" to grab the audiences attention. You must lead a very sterile life to need that type of stimulus.

Sic em' TCK -- stupid is what stupid does ... as far as this post goes, is there someone at TRASHCAR that has a brain? "Leave the NW cars alone" is the smartest thing comin' out of there for years. Now we will see if they really have the NADS -- get rid of the COTTIE car to!!@#$

"It's the economy, stupid" was a phrase in American politics widely used during Bill Clinton's successful 1992 presidential campaign against George H.W. Bush.
Cereal Killer; I don't know where you come from but the whole world heard this expression over and over. I will forgive you for your remarks in #7. In the future be a little more careful about who you tell to let the adults speak. Most semi-literate adults had heard that expression. LMAO at TCK

Leaving the Nationwide cars alone is one of the few good things to come from this economic downslide....hopefully it will buy us a lot more years of Nationwide as is.
