In his first extended comments about a campus fight reported to involve football players, Florida State coach Bobby Bowden said Thursday that he couldn't rule out the possibility of suspensions for Saturday's game against Boston College. Bowden said he would have to see the police report before discussing the incident further, but he added the university administration could take action even before the FSU Police investigation is complete. University police spokesman James Russell said witnesses allege the Wednesday brawl involved players and members of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. But he said his investigation was not complete as of Thursday evening.

Kids....that is what they are and then sometimes....men step forward and seek revenge.

They could get away with this in the '90's, but they don't have the success to cover this up now.

November 14, 2008  09:41 AM ET

Winners don't get suspended for fights or theft or DUI. Medicore, mid-pack team's players do.

And what do you wanna bet - ol' sad sack Saint Booby will be "praying for a misdemaeanor" if the campus police decide to press charges against any of the players involved.

They Keyword in the title is MAY. Thats FSU, Bowden MAY suspend players if he is FORCED to.

True, but unrelated story.

A close friend of mine is an athletic director at an Orlando private school that has the penchant for producing D1 prospects, so on occasion, Coach Bowden will come in to visit with coaches or prospects. The hallway to the coaches offices has a tile floor and block walls, so you can hear anyone coming down the hall. The sad, yet funny thing is, that Coach Bowden has the unfortunate rep for the worst case of the walking farts and they can hear him coming all the way down the hall. The tough part is keeping a straight face while talking to a man you really admire and respect after hearing the staccato of discharge.

That's the sound of ol' Booby trying to fill his Depends.

Trying hard to forget Zook (thanks for the unpleasant reminder), but I thank the frat boys every day for helping to push him out.

I concur; 10/25/04 (the day moRon No-Nads Zook was fired) was one of the happiest days of my life as a Gator fan. When I say "Oh My God - It's Actually Happening" scrolled at FRZ.com, I breathed a sigh of relief.

Anyway, there's supposed ot be a press release @3 ET about the findings and possible player suspensions.

But apparently he was a good recruiter

SAINT BOBBY AIN'T GONNA DO ANYTHING. HE TALKS A GOOD GAME BUT PUTS WINNING ABOVE MORAL DECISIONS AND DISCIPLINE.

He still left gaps onthe roster when he was canned by UF, so I woudn't call Zook a "good " recruiter. Absolutely SUCKED as a coach, gameday strategist, was way too lax on discipline and very poor at problem solving. Sucked as a leader as well; if he had control of things all those "players-only" meetings would have been unnecessary.

Ditto.

Making fun of Bobby and FSU just seems like beating a dead horse these days. The Noles looked like they were turning things around but they won't be winning the ACC if they keep doing dumb **** like this.

It's really lame that if the Noles happen to pull an upset on us this year it will be a huge embarrassment and if we win it will just be expected. I like our rivals to be tough.

Unfortunately, JoePa and GrandPa are in a walking fart race to the grave. Last one in is the all time winningnest coach.

I thought the Zook years were kinda fun actually. You expect a drop-off for a few years after a coach like Spurrier leaves. He definitely wasn't the right coach for us though, seems like his guys are extremely inconsistent (no matter where he is). But it was really awesome when everyone would count us out and then Zook's teams would go and beat one of our big rivals (Georgia and FSU).

The timing couldn't have been any worse for thm, knowing they're under NCAA scrutiny since the recent hearings, the NOA and the cheating scandal from last year. According to tallahassee.com some of fsu's trustees are sating sanctions could be likely after this latest incident, and IMO they brought all this crap upon themselves.

Zook's starting to really screw things up at Illinois lately, and some of their fanbase is beginning to see that some of us were right about Zook not being a good coach all along. Zook managed to somehow snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and the only reason we won up in Tally back in 2004 was because he finally cut his assistants some slack and let them make gametime adjustments - but he was a lame duck at that point in time.

The FSU team bus might have a "Rhodes Scholar On Board" sticker on it coming home from Boston, courtesy . But they're all dummies and FSU can't provide a decent education, of course.
