England won't call up Beckham
Anyone hoping to see David Beckham play for England in next Wednesday's friendly vs. Germany is going to be disappointed. Beckham is set to be left out of England's squad for the friendly, with manager Fabio Cappello expected to go with a young team.

It's a friendly so nothing wrong with Capello seeing what the future holds but it sure does put a dent in Beckham's aspiration to get to 125 CAPS and tie the record for England.

Agreed Hova. Not unexpected but disappointing for Becks to be sure.

even if it were not a friendly, not fielding Beckham would be a good choice

Would playing for one minute be considered a CAP?

Several of his caps are little more than that. He's like a vulture circling looking for scraps.

come on some respect to the guy he earned his CAPS and you should know that if you have folowed his since MU to Real, and have u seen last England game, he is still a great player he just plays in a bad league!

But I thought many of England's older players weren't playing in this game at all. If that's true, then this just follows that.

Capello also said that he would have chosen him if LA had made the playoffs but after 3 weeks of no football says he's out of shape. Admits that once he goes to Milan he'll definitely look for Becks again.

It would be funny if Becks was pulling all this "train and play with AC Milan in hopes of impressing the England coach" b.s. backfired on him. LOL.

I will agree that he has earned a majority his call ups but lately he's been too self absorbed with making the squad. At the expense of his club. Lots of players mention how they're hoping their play will earn them a call up (in every league) but even when Becks was injured and couldn't compete with his club his interest still remained with the England team.
When your club is struggling and your national team, for which you've played over 100 matches, is playing friendlies, you focus on your club's needs first.
I think Capello knows by now who Beckham is, he doesn't need to keep reminding him.

I thought Beckham was training with Landon in Munich?
Just kidding, only kidding.
