Baron, Dunleavy talk it out

Call it the Peace Treaty at Playa Vista. Baron Davis, having finished an interview with a Bay Area reporter, walked by Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy and another reporter and passed along some information at the team's training facility at Playa Vista on Friday afternoon. "Coach, I threw you under the bus," Davis said. Davis was smiling. He laughed and so did Dunleavy. On Friday, Davis said that communication was improving between him and Dunleavy, and the new Clippers point guard volunteered the information that they had a meeting. "It's hard when you first start off in any situation, and you want to be perfect," Davis said. "Me kind of being a perfectionist, I want to do everything out there possible to give coach what he wants and what he sees." Davis, rejecting the school of thought that Dunleavy needed to loosen the reins, then said something cited often in relationship talk. It's not you, it's me.

so happy they're on the same page-
when the season is over they can now watch the playoffs
together on each others couches....cause this team certainly
is going NOWHERE

As someone representing Che, I'm surprised to hear you getting down on the worker. Some players have bad attitudes but I don't think it's the majority. I'm glad to heat they worked it out.

i think that creepy comment by baron doesnt resolve anything

I'm a long time Baron Davis fan. Nothing Dunleavy has done in the past has had any effect on the Clippers fortunes. They've been doormats for years. Dunleavy would be smart to concede to a different approach. Davis wants to win, and will make the people around him better. It wouldn't hurt to do things a little different than they have in the past. Davis should also accept the fact that he's in a different system, and tone it down a notch to please the coach. Wait until it doesn't work before, taking matters into his own hands.

If these two can't find common ground the Clips are doomed.

Same ol' Clippers.

If those guys are "workers", I don't wanna know what poor people are.

The poor people are us fans willing to pay these players and owners millions to entertain us. As long as we are willing to build stadiums with taxpayer money and dish out our hard earned cash on games and merchandise they will remain overpaid workers.

You hit the nail right on the head. Of course history tells us that any team with Baron Davis at the point is going nowhere. I honestly love his moxie, but he gets hurt too often and it's not hard to conclude that things are all about him. At this rate, he's destined to be one of those players who accumulates stats, but really doesn't anything worth mentioning.

Why would you sign Baron Davis when your coach is Dunleavy? For that matter, why would anyone sign Dunleavy after he has failed everywhere since he left the Lakers? Oh, I forgot, it's the Clippers.

November 16, 2008  02:04 PM ET

Davis and Iverson. Two peas in a pod.

How sweet of them

Dunleavy has the unrealistic expectation that Baron will play team basketball. Fill in your own punch line. Fireworks soon.
