Manchester City's Robinho has urged compatriot Kaka to leave AC Milan and join him at Eastlands. The Sky Blues' billionaire owners look set to invest heavily in the squad when the transfer window reopens in January and, according to The Guardian, Robinho has pleaded with Kaka to join him in Manchester.

This would be fun to watch, but then Milan would suck.

I am not sure how much utility you get with Kaka and Ronaldinho in the midfield. Except for the fact that Kaka is younger. I don't see what City can offer aside from a lot of $$$$$$$. I could imagine Ronaldinho going to city for a young back. Milan need to hoard youth not sell it.

City has to learn to build a team first. Stop going after stars City. They don't respect you. Go out there and purchase glue guys who will build the brand and then acquire a star or two.

P.S.: Sell Robinho. He ain't going to get you to the promised land. Get on the phone and holla at Roman Abramovich and let's go back to some sort of stat quo in the Premiership.

exactly! this is the same thing real madrid was doing a while back , with the purchases of zidane , figo , beckham and ronaldo..in the early 2000's , they tried to build a team of superstars , yet they couldnt win a season title from 1999 to 2005 , and in between that time was the era of the infamous "los galacticos"

Glad you agree. Buying every star you can doesn't win you a title. You need glue guys. Unselfish players who know their role with the team. Superstars at every position will only be out for them self.

Plus, I know Robinho sold himself to the highest bidder but City was a horrible choice on his part but its an error that can be resolved if City just sells him off and use the transfer fee on a couple solid choices.

i don't think Kaka will leave Milan if they get back into the CL after this year, plus Milan is more likely to sell off some other superstar midfielder rather than Kaka, he's too much an integral part of that offense

Kaka has turned approaches from Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Chelsea. Why would he ever be interested in going to ManCity?

November 17, 2008  09:21 AM ET

If this were to play out, it would be a lateral move for Kaka. Not exactly the direction his career needs. Actually his career is fine right where he's at. If Robinho thinks he's got the status to put out a public statement like that and expect Kaka to jump, he's got another thing coming.
ManCity is a fad right now. As much as I hate ManU, they've been in the upper echelon for quite some time. In this day and age, 5 years from now ManCity may not be a factor anymore, sporting or financially. Meanwhile, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Barca, Manu will still be the highest level.
Robinho, you don't have the stock to make this statement.

November 17, 2008  09:57 AM ET

Kaka will want to dominate another league...I just don't see Man City being the place to do it. Realistically, Kaka would likely only go to Man United or Chelsea.
Besides, currently he is the highest paid player in Europe (I think) so he wouldn't necessarily be leaving Serie A for money. It would be that he wants a new challenge.

LOL - maybe that means the MLS.

How would going from one of the most storied club's in Europe to Man Sh*tty be lateral? Milan had one off year. They'll win UEFA Cup, they look poised to make a run at the Scudetto (sp?) and be back in CL vs Sh*tty who looks to be mid table in the EPL despite their spending.

Ricky LOVES being the face of the Rossoneri which also have a tradition of great Brazilians. He's not going anywhere. Cochino realizes what a terrible mistake he made going to Sh*tty and is trying desparately to lure anyone and everyone that may help that team.

November 17, 2008  06:31 PM ET

Yeah that's exactly what ManCity needs... another attacking player. Why don't they spend some money and shore up their D a little?

November 17, 2008  08:47 PM ET

Why on earth would one of the highest paid players in the world, playing with the second greatest club in the world(behind real madrid) go and play for Man City? Just to play alongside Robhino? Milan, one of the fashion capitals of the world, to Man City?.. I don't think the EPL will even suit his style......Kaka knows this, and he is already playing with some of the best players in the world....who does Man City have ,Robhino?.....Who else?......I am positive Kaka will stay put ...he does not need the money

Why would he be intrested in even going to England?......it won't suit his style......remember Man U wanted Ronladhino from PSG in france and he turned them down to go to Barca and the rest as we say is history......and by the way ....remember Man City wanted Ronaldhino....where did he go and because of whom?
