Patriots don't respond to Porter's taunts

Miami Dolphins outside linebacker Joey Porter runs his mouth the way he rushes the passer - at full speed. But Porter's latest incendiary comments barely registered a ripple with the Patriots, at least publicly. Instead of trading barbs with Porter, the Patriots ceded the floor to him yesterday, the day after Porter told reporters in South Florida that he didn't like the Patriots and felt New England disrespected the Dolphins last season in a 28-7 victory by running the ball instead of kneeling late in the fourth quarter. Porter also accused the Patriots of purposely punting into the area where the Dolphins were stretching during warm-ups before the teams' first meeting this season, a 38-13 win for Miami.

Porter is an idiot. Full of too much of himself. It's a team game and this boy is just of the unwanted - the dumped - of the league.

Manny being Manny. Joey being Joey. He talks ALOT, but he puts up, too. Congrats on the great season, stay healthy.

Didn't he talk smack the first time they beat the Pats?

Just another NFL thug wannabe

I see the typical baiters have shown up for this thread. It'll be interesting to see if anyone bites.

Patriot fans the chicken has come to roust and his name is Porter and I am loving it. They think every call should go to them and the benefit of no offensive pass interferencess, the cheating of the baltimore ravens last year...the refs love yaa....so lets sick a pitbull on them and take that luxury away...getting joey....in the words of martin lawrence in bad boys I ...'tell m something joe". it parts of the game we had to endure the arrogance from your coach and the deficating facial expression.....enjoy the laxative

Anyone quoting Martin Lawrence should be taken very seriously.

Like a bass on a worm...........the boat will be full today.

Typical Bond with his racial epithets to describe Black athletes. Either way, Joey Porter rarely doesn't back up his talk. I can see another 20+ point drubbing coming up. If the Patriots are gameplanning for the Wildcat formation, the Dolphins will probably hit them with something else.

That's exactly how he acts....... Like a boy.

I love how this article is news. "Porter talks trash" "Patriots don't comment" There was a times when 'news' was new.... I am shocked that Porter is running his mouth, and I am Shocked that the Patriots haven't commented....

November 19, 2008  07:53 AM ET

Who cares what he says. When a player starts running his mouth like this it means that he truely doesn't like the other team/players/coaches. THAT is what makes a great rivalry. Very much the same for Baltimore & Pittsburgh. I LOVE IT

I wouldn't mind seeing his jaw wired shut for a couple of weeks...

After watching the first game I would be inclined to agree with you although it pains me to even somewhat agree with that.
However, the Patriots rarely lose two games in a year to any opponent.

As a slightly different and off thread comment (imagine that) who thinks we might see Vince Young in a Wildcat type formation? My biggest problem with running Quarterbacks in the NFL is that Coordinators try to switch them into a passing style quarterback. Add to that most of the offensive lineman are schooled in typical pocket protection and not in protecting a runing quarterback. The 'Wildcat', as gimmicky as it is, seems to be geared towards the potential immediate running threat with a secondary passing threat which is what a running Quarterback needs to be.

Can't argue with that... I guess THAT would be news...

Mr Boston...I guess will see if you all win.....what's your excuse then. Since I know one to be taking serious.....your fluke season is not to be taking serious. You ignored the Bmore comment but concentrated on the Martin Lawrence comment. That's cool its expected. Enjoy the port-a -john

This guy talks even when he's irrelevant (last year). He's a bum.

He's also leading the lead in sacks and has an outside chance of breaking the single season record. Yea, what a bum..
