Gallinari return moved back

The prognosis for Danilo Gallinari's back remains the same, though the timetable keeps getting pushed back. The Knicks rookie Tuesday saw a specialist -- his third in five days -- who agreed with the previous two doctors that his lower-back injury requires rest, not surgery. The new timetable presented to him was six to eight weeks, which pushes back any chance for a return to the court until at least early January. Gallinari, who suffered a disc protrusion after a series of hard falls with the Knicks' summer league team in July, was scheduled to meet with one more specialist next week in Los Angeles. But a team spokesman said the West Coast appointment might be canceled.

Just waive the guy and cut your losses (jj). Too many bad decisions by the Knicks and it continues.

Let him rest. Danilo Gallinari wasn't expected to do much of anything this season anyway, so why rush him back?

His return moved back to where? Italy?

Agreed-
after seeing him lumber around the first couple of games
it is preposterous to put this guy on the floor-
just keep him away from eddy curry's 'training regimine"
and he'll be fine

The Knicks are not desperate anymore so it shouldnt be that big of a deal

How much of a hit did this guy take? He supposedly was just "bumped," and he's been down for 3 months? Either this was a pre-existing problem, or they guy is simply not ready for prime time.

i was so happy when the knicks drafted him. I was sitting there all night before the draft saying to my buddy "I hope stupid D'Antoni, who the stupid knicks think is the answer to thier problems, picks this horrible italian kid. I was sure he would since he played in Italy with his dad and since he is a bad coach like I said earlier and he almost always makes bad decisions. He had a good team in Phoenix and that is why he had success. If he could coach they would have won championships. I love a train wreck. ALTHOUGH, he is way better then Thomas so the knicks are better and slowly improving but it will be awhile till they are good.

He'll be fortunate to last the season in NY. Too bad I can't say the same thing about D'Antoni. His "system" has caused enough "wins" to give NY fans false hopes. They will not make the playoffs this year and if they ever do, they'll be owned in the first round. D'Antoni ball doesn't win championships.

petey-
we don't have false hopes-
we realize every win we have is against a cream puff
or a depleted team.....

We ARE though encouraged by our players actually
TRYING to play like a professional team-

i have a funny feeling about this guy he will be another frederic heiss( the frenchie)

You guys are forgetting that Danilo is just 19. I've seen him play maybe 20 times, and believe me he's the real thing. Good size, excellent shot, and what will probably surprise most of you..........a real mean streak!!!! Give him time, he's got plenty of it, and he'll be a very solid NBA player.
Craig

P.S. By the way the French kids name is Frederic Weiss.

I think the Kid will be better than solid. He has talent - watch the You-tube nba summer league clips. Also take a look at the Italian league clips. (Keep in mind in Europe he was playing against competition that is at least as good as that in our top college programs. He's 19 - the age of a college freshman. Give him 3 years to work on his game and hit the weight room -
