Jag wants to 'duke it out' with Vikings coach

Former first-round draft pick Troy Williamson never really got along with coach Brad Childress in Minnesota. His feelings haven't changed since leaving there, either. Williamson, now in Jacksonville, said Wednesday he lost respect for his former coach last year and would like to "duke it out" with him when the Jaguars host the Vikings on Sunday. "We can meet on the 50-yard line and we can go at it," Williamson said. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound receiver said he liked his chances against Childress, too, especially with a few inches and at least 10 pounds on the coach. Williamson even said he would fight with both hands tied behind his back. Childress countered by saying, "He must not be aware there's a buffer zone between the opponents." Childress initially said he wasn't "biting" on Williamson's comments, but when pressed about his height and weight on a conference call, he responded: "Do you need my reach? I'm not like a woman; I'll give you my weight. It's 190 pounds of twisted steel and rompin', stompin' dynamite. Is that enough humor for you?"

Quote: "Williamson even said he would fight with both hands tied behind his back."

So he's willing to fight the same way he seemed to try and catch balls. Nice.

Too much testosterone around here for me. Besides, I have a cake to bake and laundry to do before the "little woman" kicks my a**.

That's cold!! But it's a DRY cold.

Williamson couldn't fight Childress. He'd lose him in the lights.

Troy Williamson can't drop people. He only drops passes.

Let's just make this a "Diss Troy Williamson" thread.

I'd like to see the Vikes coach kick his as* with his hands tied
behind his back. Another Big Mouth wanting attention.
Shut the heck up!

Childress may not be the best coach in the world, but he sounds like a cool guy.

Now if only the Vikings could become the Purple People Eaters of old, we'd have something.

with the numbers Williamson is putting up, he should let his stats speak for themselves.. wait nevermind

I wish someone would knock Chilly out, maybe he'll get a concussion, then enter some sort of dream/como to think up new plays bsides run left, 3yrd pass w/6yrds to go, and run left.

I was going to crack Williamson... Looks like you guys took care of that for me... Thanks

November 20, 2008  09:03 AM ET

I've never heard of this guy.......

November 20, 2008  09:28 AM ET

What a stupid thing to say. Williamson is an idiot.

November 20, 2008  09:33 AM ET

Ugh....another punk in the NFL.

November 20, 2008  09:42 AM ET

this is funny..

November 20, 2008  09:47 AM ET

It was a stupid thing for him to say, but it was emotional. The man fined him when he went to his grandmother's funeral. I can understand having some resentment towards him.

I think the NFL should fine him. He's basically saying he wants to beat up a coach. Real class act.
