Giants' subliminal A-Rod message?
There was a moment yesterday when A-Rod's mug dominated the ballpark like a 50-foot underwear ad hanging over Times Square, the AT&T scoreboard and scattered TVs flashing his image so often, someone had to be sending a subliminal message. Giants fans could barely stand the tease. If their desire to see A-Rod relocate to the Bay Area hasn't quite reached the obsession stage, it's only because he can't play quarterback for the 49ers.

wait isn't every player's picture all over the ballpark during their at-bat? i doubt there is anything to this because teams usually have really strict policies about championing opposing players. didn't a bulls pa announcer get canned because he treated michael jordan's return (as a wizard) like he was still a bull?
oh wait, this t&r comes from the new york daily news. never mind. move along, people, nothing to see here.

Okay, lemme clarify what this is all about:
It's the NY Daily News...now what they are doing is subliminally taking that subliminal mental chess game from San Francisco, and are using subliminal messaging from back east to subliminally let Alex Rodriguez know that New Yorkers don't believe in that subliminal @#$%.
This means that when Alex Rodriguez makes that first out back home, New Yorkers won't be utilizing any of that subliminal @#$% to let Alex Rodriguez know about how they feel the very moment Alex Rodriguez makes an out at Yankee Stadium.
"For 'th foist 'n' only time, mooks, when wes is booin' and tretenin' and @#$% like dat dere, wes ain't gonna be usin' none of dat freaky subliminous @#$% like dat dere ta boo 'n' treten', ya unnderstand?"
See? Nothing to it. :-D

As a Red Sox fan, I hope A-Rod does go to San Francisco for two reasons.
1) I hate his guts.
2) He's so good and i don't want to have to worry about him.

Anyone that thinks this guy will stay with the Yanks after this season has no clue what is going on. He will leave New York and San Fran would be a perfect fit. New league. No pressure. Crappy team. all the things that he likes

A-Rod's going to Chicago after the season to play with his old manager, and his old position. He loves playing SS, and could you imagine a 3-4-5 of A-Rod,Ramirez, Lee...not too mention a pretty solid defensive infield with lee and A-Rod.

All you people who constantly refer to Arod as a roid head are really reaching. I can understand not liking the guy (mostly because he isn't on your team), but this seems pretty pathetic. In the guys first full season in the bigs he hit 36 homers with 123 RBI, and BATTED .358!!! He then went on to hit 30+ homeruns in 9 of the next 10 seasons (and has 28 in the first half of season 11), and in 7 of those ten he hit 40+.
He???s a great baseball player. In an era where ALMOST everyone is in question, this guy just seems like ???the truth???.
If you don???t like his personality, that???s one thing. But come on guys, I know it???s hard to rip the best baseball player in the game, but try and be a little bit more creative.
Oh yeah, he???ll never go to San Fran, if he leaves NY (which he won???t), he???d probably end up in Boston???in which case we???d see red sox nation do a complete 180.

HGH isn't tested and we don't want him in Boston. We would rather keep Lowell.
No Red Sox Nation will not do a complete turn and you really think we are paying the malcontent another 200 million your nuts.
He isn't clutch except in April and let me say this again WE DON'T WANT HIM

Actually they CANNOT afford him as soon as they dump Bonds. Barroids is pulling in 17 million this year. A-rod will get considerably more than that. They are on the hook for Zito's big contract. They need many position players. They have interest payments on that park.
They couldn't afford Matthews Juicer, they sure as hell won't be able to afford A-rod.
On the other hand, Magowan surprised ALL of baseball when he signed Bonds originally. Who knows?

waddya mean he isn't clutch if it's not april? he hit a game tying HR in the ninth on saturday and drove in 6 runs with an inhuman 1.727 ops in the past week. all you haters can say what you want, but A-rod is probably the only player who's really worth a $25 mill over 10 year deal.
and im not sure you guys should be implying he's on hgh when guys like made-of-glass Drew and bench-player-to-54-hr Ortiz are your cornerstones.
and lol at "malcontent." how many times has manny refused to play and demanded a trade? oh, right, that's manny being manny, so it's okay. but only for him. </sarcasm>

Dunedan, are you really comparing Manny "The World Series MVP for the World Champion Red Sox" to Alex "Mr April, All My Teams Succeed After I Leave .200 Hitter in October While the Yanks Fold In The Playoffs Again" Rodriguez?????
Please.

meh, being good in 10 or so playoff games doesn't make up for being an immature baby for 162, imo.
even in a-rod's down years, he beats manny in the stat line (and doesn't request a trade)

There is absolutely no comparison between manny and arod. everything duneden said is absoluterly correct. manny isnt even good in the playoffs! he's a lifetime .257 hitter with 20 homers and 48 rbis in 81 games, way down from his carreer averages. Arod's played in 35 games and he has a better average, .280, and better OBP, .362 to .353 with comparable hr and rbi numbers. suck on that for clutch

he won't stay with the yanks if they don't make the playoffs. I think he'd be willing to take Bond's place in SF. He'd be adored, he's already adored, perfect match.
