T.O. frustrated with Cowboys offense

Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens said he's frustrated with his offensive numbers and that the style of offense is the cause of it. Owens spoke to former Cowboys player Deion Sanders in a taped interview on the NFL Network. He said he wants to win a championship with the Cowboys, but he also wants the ball. "For me to have the numbers that I have and not really being involved, it is discouraging," Owens said in the interview that aired Thursday night. "It is frustrating, but what can I do?" Owens has 40 catches for 505 yards with six touchdowns. He has one touchdown in the last four games and hasn't had more than 40 receiving yards since an Oct. 5 victory over Cincinnati. Starting quarterback Tony Romo missed three of the last four games with a fractured right pinkie. Owens has said if he complains about his role in the offense, he will be viewed as selfish, so he's tried to stay quiet. Owens prefers a Super Bowl title over numbers, "but at the same time, you can't obtain that championship if I'm not involved in the offense," he said. "It's going to come, and I think a lot of people, they see that when I get my hands on the ball things happen. I can't throw it and catch it. I can do only one thing. It's not that I can't play, it's the system of which I'm in."

November 21, 2008  06:14 AM ET

It sounds like he is suffering from keshawnjohnsonitis.

November 21, 2008  06:16 AM ET

"but at the same time, you can't obtain that championship if I'm not involved in the offense,"

Oh great, here we go. This is generate 1000 easy. OK Ferrell, time to step up.

November 21, 2008  07:12 AM ET

Just when I start to think that maybe JUST FREAKING MAYBE my Boys are on track, playing better and things are finally back on track, we find out Felix Jones is out for the year and now this.

For the first time all year I am starting to see reality and it hurts bad!! Stings like a biotch...I love these guys but they just aren't going to make it with all this outside nonsense going on.

November 21, 2008  07:19 AM ET

When they ball gets thrown his way he DROPS HIS PASSES. Enough Said. Quit Whining T.O. and just play football.

Yeah, I started thinking about the drop passes thing too. I have never seen someone so much in denial. But I think that makes all of this worse. He refuses to accept responsibility and is blaming everyone else...This thing is about to implode..This whole damn thing!

I say let the HATERS......HATE! IT'S THERE JOB!

Anyway, what is he supposed to be? Happy his numbers are down? Yes, he drops passes, but he also been thrown some bad ones that he managed to hold on to. Dallas is not having a good season all around (for a number of reasons), so for all the Cowboys fans that would like to jump on the 'We hate T.O. too' bandwagon, he's STILL a Cowboy. So join the media fed HATERS and HATE, HATE, HATE away!

November 21, 2008  07:40 AM ET

Yep. the dropped passes are killing his numbers and the team. Romo was trying to get him the ball. Johnson.. well.. that was/is a failure.
Thing is, he DOES need to be involved and successful for them to be successful. What he didn't say, is that he is not helping the situation. AND, like many others (including moss.. ) he can't keep his mouth closed long enough to keep from distracting the team.

November 21, 2008  07:40 AM ET

He can't catch the ball is the problem... how many throws are his way?... in the Skins game, they ran reverses to him, they threw screen passes to him, quick slants etc... all of them resulted in nothing.... T.O. will be gone after this season which is exactly why they signed Roy Williams.... he has better hands than Owens.... throw Williams the ball and he will produce just as much if not more than T.O.

Lol ferrel. Your right, the haters will come out. My comments weren't meant to hate on him because he is only one player on a team. They could be a very dangerous team come playoff time if they get rolling... They have the pieces, but they just can't seem to gel.

HOMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FONZIE...You REALLY think he'll be gone after this season?? I can't even imagine that...They just extended him 4 more years right after training camp. I know he won't go another 4, but to let him go months after an extension seems really odd to me!

Would be bad business too, unless they got a good trade or some serious draft picks for him...
