Why Girardi doesn't want Yanks' job

Could Joe Girardi, like many potential Yankees managers, be hesitant to replace Joe Torre? Girardi is only 42, so he has plenty of lineup cards ahead of him. He could've accepted the Baltimore job and waited for Torre's immediate successor - most likely Don Mattingly - to fade away, along with Torre's legend.

It's not the money it's the pride Baltimore would hurt not help Joe's resume I see him with the Cubs soon,Yanks are still down the road the Yanks like there players are based on there history Joe has 1 year under his belt still a babe in the woods and don't be so sure The Don is the next Yank Mgr

So, the fact that Girardi actually passed on the Baltimore job somehow indicates that he might not want the Yankees' job? How exactly does that work?

would you want to be the yankees manager after torre? no way. let somebody else to come in and take the heat and then come in to "restore the yankees to their former glory" or whatever yankee fans say.

but he shouldn't take the job.
