Remember The Searchers' hit "Needles and Pins"? Scott Gomez might be humming that oldie if his visit to a Westchester acupuncturist helps put him back on the scoring charts. "It's as good as he's felt all along," Rangers coach Tom Renney said of Gomez, who missed his fourth consecutive game last night with what is either a deep ankle bruise or a high ankle sprain. "He had some good treatment [Tuesday]," Renney said, and the center might go for a light skate today. Nonetheless, Gomez likely won't dress for the matinee in Ottawa Saturday. Said Renney: "I would have a hard time seeing that, but you never know." The team's next home game is Monday against the Coyotes.

QUOTE(#7):

Never wanted this guy.

I wanted him (Gomez) just not at that much money for so many years; Drury same issue.

But hey if those two overpayed poke-checking Dmen Redden and Rosi can get almost as much money for that many years when the best Rangers D is Mara, Staal, and Girardi, I'll take those two contracts!

JUST NOT ALL 4 AT THE SAME DAMN TIME THERE IS A SALARY CAP AND SOME PLAYERS DO NEED TO GET LOCKED DOWN LIKE OUR BEST DMEN!!!!!

Dubinsky, Callahan, Girardi, Staal, Mara, who else is going to be a RFA/UFA after the season's over (or next)? Salary cap isn't raising I hear.
