Izturis tops Orioles' list
The Orioles have talked to the representative for free agent Cesar Izturis, the latest indication that the slick-fielding shortstop is at the top of their list to fill the team's vacancy at the position. Izturis, 28, hit .263 last season with one homer and 24 RBIs in 135 games for the St. Louis Cardinals. He's a career .260 hitter over parts of 10 major league seasons that include stints with the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cardinals.

I'd rather St. Louis keep him than sign Rentaria. This guy does have an outstanding glove.

The Orioles actually are organized enough to make a list?

They're setting the bar rather low if he's at the top of their list.

100% agree, CF2 I shudder to think of the ground balls that will get through the left side if we have Edgar and Glaus over there. Both are good defensively, but neither has range.

Doesn't have much of a bat, but after watching Furcal's butchery, we realized how much we missed him in L.A. If you gor some hitters, sign him.

Young team, young staff, they need someone who can play 'D' before offensive production. He'll bat #9. SS is the O's biggest hole, followed by pitching.

Well duh... Furcal is too much if they are going to try and go for Texeira or Burnett

How many championships did the O's win with great pitching & Mark Belanger at SS in the 70's. i think he would be a great addition.
