Royals quietly shopping Guillen

The Royals are quietly shopping righthanded-hitting outfielder Jose Guillen, a terrific talent who seems to have the knack for wearing out his welcome pretty quickly. Guilen is said to be at odds with Royals manager Trey Hillman, who just completed his first year at the helm in Kansas City. Guillen can hit -- 20 home runs, 97 RBIs and a .264 batting average last year -- but the problem is his $12 million salary and two years remaining on his contract.

Look at all the crappy teams he has played on. Losing breeds bad attitudes. Some one will give him a chance.

Maybe they can trade all of their outfielders!

This guy is as close to being a journeyman player as you can get without actually applying that tag to his name. Not only has he played on lots of teams but his numbers for the large part are fair to not that great. And his fielding average is below the league average every year but two. There is a reason he has been on a lot of losing teams, he ain't that good and should learn to adjust his attitude and maybe then he might actually do something with the obviously limited talent that he has.

Apparently, the Royals aren't being too quiet about this..... anyways, Guillen wears out his welcome quickly wherever he goes.... he's considered a major clubhouse cancer...... I disagree with Joe on the talent part.... he can rake.....

Yippee, a Royals thread. I wonder of both of their fans will post before midnight. Who's taking odds?

Why would anyone be happy playing for the pathetic Royals? They will always be losers.

I don't see this trade happening unless Guillen is hitting around .300 with 14 HRs at the All-Star break. His salary is awful lofty for a person with his character flaws. He is not the leader the Royals need while trying to develop a clubhouse full of young guys.
