The Montreal Canadiens have renewed talks with unrestricted free agent Mats Sundin. Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey met with the 37-year-old Sundin in California on Wednesday in hopes of restoring talks between the two sides. Sundin has been working out in Los Angeles since early November, where he is expected to begin skating next week. However, while Sundin is showing signs of returning, he hasn't made any decision yet. In mid-September, the Canadiens acquired forward Robert Lang from the Chicago Blackhawks after deciding to move in a different direction from the Sundin sweepstakes.

Nobody can beat T&R at serving up reheated leftovers. Their three favorite dishes are : Sundin, Shanahan and Khabibulin. Lately, they added a fourth: Burke!

There you have it folks. Four T&R flavours: Sweedish, Irish, Russian and ...dog food!

P.S. I know! I know! Copy & Paste is cheezzy! But, T&R doesn't mind doing it, why should I?

He'd be a good fit in LA, moreso than anywhere else. Only in Hollywood do they regularly gather up olde, washed up performers and think they can be useful again

Untrue. Vegas does this more than any other city, but they don't have an NHL franchise.

yet....the Poison Dwarf wants one there, and until someone guesses his real name, he stays as the Commisioner

Wow how the mighty have fallen! A year ago Sundin was a hero to Leaf fans, now he's a bum. By his own actions he has only himself to blame for this fall from grace. He's no Wendel Clark that's for sure. In a ranking of Leaf captains of the past Mats would be on the bottom rung in my opinion.

November 22, 2008  12:43 PM ET

I can't wait 'till Sundin signs with someone so the guys at T&R stop writing about him.

Actually, it was an attempted Rumplestiltskin reference, (or rumpled foreskin in his case!)
or:
Hugh G Rection?
Mike Hunt?
Claude Balls?
Dick Gozinya?
Ophelia Hiene?
Phil Accio?
And he drinks: Dickens' Cider

Richard Licker?

If I may be serious about this for a moment, if Sundin really wants to win a Cup, Montreal would be a great place to go. It would make a lot of sense.

Never anything wrong with nonsense and shenanigans.

"Actually, it was an attempted Rumplestiltskin reference, (or rumpled foreskin in his case!)"

It was a successful Rumplestiltskin reference. I laughed pretty good at that one.

I am tired of reading constant, redundent crap! That said I am still interested in where some of these players go because changing teams almost always changes the players performance. Sundin stats speak for themselves and I don't know how I guy that has been this consistent over his career could be put down soooo much! He's a great player and I am certain that there is still plenty of fuel in his big bald topped tank and would be an asset to any team. I am interested to see him shut some people up!!! I am not sure what Shanny is waiting for? He needs to sign or retire bottom line! Khabibulin is a great goalie that's coming on strong as of late and could be a useful on a number of teams. Burke I'd like to see him stirr things up in T.O but without messin too much with the youth movement going on there as some of these younger players are playing great for how green they are. I have to say it one more time and also agree with the fact that there is too much attention to players that nothing is happening with

One last thing about Sundin. The only two teams that would be a "perfect" fit are Detroit as they have the Swedish Olympic team there but it will never happen (Hossa was the right choice) and Vancouver who could use his services with all the ups and downs they have with their current line up.
