After Joe Girardi turned down the managerial job in Baltimore, a rumor made the rounds that the Orioles' new No. 1 baseball man, Andy MacPhail, is interested in bringing Tom Kelly out of retirement to join him in helping try to turn the franchise around. That seemed a long shot, with former Chicago managers Don Baylor and Jerry Manuel more realistic possibilities.
