Manchester United's Argentine striker Carlos Tevez will be playing for Real Madrid next season - according to Los Blancos' media mouthpiece, Marca. According to the newspaper - known for publishing stories that advance whatever agenda Real Madrid are interested in pursuing at any given time - a deal between Los Merengues and the Argentine international has already been signed.

Real Madrid... Marca... Manchester United... yeah. I think I'll wait and be surprised.

Do you one better Burgundy, look who is reporting the story stateside. The follow up to this story in Goal.com will likely involve Carlito's 3 armed baby that was conceived with a comatose paraplegic...

That is hilarious. I am not sure where Tevez will end up (City maybe ;)) but he won't be at United.

It's going to be tough to retain him, especially with Campbell and the emergence of Wellbeck. With the financial crisis and uncertainty as to whether AIG will actually make the last sponsorship payement, might be best to stick that money in their pocket or invest elsewhere in the team (keeper, winger, defensive mid).

It looks like Carlos is going, and all I have to say is let Calderon open his wallet. Pay heavy for him.

Agree. It could be worse. It could be AS publishing the story

i knew it , even if this rumor is false , it is no longer a secret that real madrid want tevez

He's as good as Galactico. While this news is strong speculation, I've said it before, Real Madrid is the Holy Grail achievement. Most players will go through ANYTHING to wear the shirt.

I don't know Aurinegro. As a Madrid fan, I'd love to believe that's still the case, but I fear that Calderon and Mijatovic have turned this club in to something of a joke. Though to be fair, the slide started under Perez in 2001 and has just been ongoing despite their CL crown in 01-02

I'd say this is even more likely after watching Higuain get taken off earlier today.

Good to see all the illegal wheeling and dealing from Spain. One ounce of truth to this and Real Madrid is in trouble once again. I bet they cringe any time these ridiculous reports pop up weeks before the transfer windows.

Trust me on this one. If he is officially signed (which we still have to wait for), somewhere in his words you'll hear this "it's like a dream come true".

Carlos Tevez will look good no matter where he plays! And, as far as I'm concerned, he can play wherever he wants! I really don't care ..... as long as he's available to play for la Seleccion Nacional de Argentina!

I don't doubt you on that one, but hasn't that become the stock answer anytime a player puts on a new shirt?

If they're going to one of the big clubs it's: "Every player dreams of putting on the _________ (fill in the blank) shirt. This is one of the top clubs in the world, and it's a something that all players dream of"

If they wind up at a smaller club for more time or money than it's: "I've had the chance to play for ___________ (fill in the blank) which is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Now I want to help ___________ (fill in the blank) reach that level. They have a very good team and I hope to be able to contribute".

It's all so insincere and trite that it's pointless. Right now Tevez would play for any of the larger clubs in Europe if he gets on the field.

This speculation is about to increase. Higuain was injured in today's lucky win versus Recre, at home. The win was so ugly that the Bernabeu fans whistled Real off the field when the game was over. Make no mistake, Tevez would be a great acquisition. He's got the skill and the drive.

However, if I had my druthers I would rather Real hold off on any attacker and let Saviola and Alberto Bueno get some consistent playing time. Raul is not going to carry the load by himself. He's old. He isn't as fast. Plus, drops back too far to help with the pressure on opposing midfielders and defenders.

Mijatovic needs to go.

They need to tie him to Calderon and toss both of them off a bridge.

J. HOVA: DEVILS???
"It looks like Carlos is going, and all I have to say is let Calderon open his wallet. Pay heavy for him."

November 24, 2008  06:58 PM ET

i'm pretty sure west ham do not own him anymore either

November 26, 2008  05:30 PM ET

Tell that to West Ham...they are like the guy that got dumped by the super, incredibly hot girlfriend...time to just move on...let it go.
