Add the New Jersey Devils among teams with rumored interest in trading for injured Wild star Marian Gaborik. A Wild-Devils deal likely would have to include New Jersey's Zach Parise, son of former North Star J.P. Parise.

Yes, yes yes. Please bring Parise here. MN has proven they don't need Gaborik. They may still be a few players away from being a real contender but Gaborik has done nothing to help them this year. Next move would be to get rid of Lemaire and then MN would be heading in the right direction.

Include? Hell, Parise is almost a goal a game guy for his career just like Gaborik and Parise stays healthy, only missing a couple games in his career. If the Devils give up Parise and someone else, they are paying way too much.

I say go for it! ;)

I wonder what the chances are of the Puckheads taking over this section of truth and rumors? We might not have crazy access like the media, but we certainly can liven up the daily PR release fodder that has no educational value. No wonder nobody likes hockey on FN, they all look at the daily T&R hockey section and get the impression that the sport revolves around Sundin, Shanahan and Gaborik relocating to another team.

Excellent point Mac!

Hell, Ryan Whitney has been on the ice for a while and is even participating in practice. He's due back around Christmas...more than a month earlier than expected. Of course, people here dont know that b/c of all the same old rehashed crap they put out day after day.

Honestly I'm all for the Devils adding more firepower but giving up Parise for Gaborik seems like overkill

A change in scenery may be all Gabby needs.

If the devils give up parise, that could be it for the devils playoff hopes, and their future. If parise can score over a point a game with Zajac and Langenbrunner as his linemates, what if the devils can sign a real offensive threat next season, he could put up some unreal numbers.

November 23, 2008  12:03 PM ET

The Devils should not trade Parise. He won't want as much money as Gabby and he can actually stay healthy.

November 23, 2008  12:50 PM ET

this is cruel joke on wild fans...why on earth would NJ give us parise? he has 23 points and gabby has barely played! this would make zero sense on their part (i would take it in a second though obviously). if lou really came to risebrough with this offer he'd take it in a second while trying not to burst out into a laugh crazed dance frenzy...

This would be a horrid trade for the Devils. Parise is 100X the player that Gabby is, simply because he can stay healthy.

It would make me happy to see Gabby get traded to another defensive-minded team, though.

That would really **** him off I'll bet.

Gaborik can go out east for all I care. Parise's stats have been getting better and better and he plays almost the whole season. If the wild don't take this, they are not looking at getting into the playoffs.

"A Wild-Devils deal likely would have to include New Jersey's Zach Parise ......"

Not a chance! The Devs would have to be STOO PID to trade Parise for Gaborik. They'd be trading a young lion (a decent, up'n coming young player) for a paper tiger! ..... an often injured paper tiger at that!

November 24, 2008  12:17 AM ET

Wild would be silly to not take any deal in which Parise is included. I can't see the devils giving him up though. I think a more likely trade would be Travis Zajac and a 2nd round pick for Gaborik.

November 24, 2008  12:49 PM ET

This intruiges me.

I think Gaborik is a perfect NJ player. Except for the fragility.

And while it might hurt to give up Parise getting a true gunner always costs something.

To see Zach play where papa JP played for so long might be kind of cool too.

November 24, 2008  01:09 PM ET

Minnesota won't be getting Parise or anybody even remotely comparable for Gaborik. Pittsburgh gave up Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen, Angelo Esposito plus a #1 for Hossa and Pascal Dupuis last year. Hossa is a better player than Gaborik and he doesn't have the injury concerns that Gaborik does. The return for Gaborik will be along on the lines of a #1 plus a mediocre roster player and a B level prospect.

November 24, 2008  06:59 PM ET

Wow, who comes up with this stuff. The Devils would never do this. Parise is signed at 3 million for the next four years. He is their future.

November 24, 2008  09:15 PM ET

who the hell knows what gabby and the wild are going to do

November 26, 2008  12:48 PM ET

Do it give up Parise. This Ranger fan will be dancing.
