Why hasn't Peppers signed new deal?
Julius Peppers has been at his disruptive best this season, sacking the quarterback, forcing fumbles, running down running backs, sticking to receivers and floating into the flat to stuff screen passes. He has done everything but sign a contract. The contract that binds Peppers to the Carolina Panthers will expire after this season, a development that seems to worry neither the Panthers nor Peppers. General manager Marty Hurney says Friday that "discussions have all been positive" and that Peppers wants to "focus on playing well and helping the team win." Sources say the Panthers have offered Peppers an enormous contract.

An NFL player is playing extra hard during a contract year? Who would of thought.
Why should he sign the contract now? He wants to test the free agency waters and see how much he's worth. I'm sure Peppers would love to stay in Carolina, he spent his whole life and education there. But money talks.

Don't understand why this team does not get more attention. They could have home field through out the playoffs...

Agree metro.......he is the face of the Panthers, (sorry Steve Smith).
Big game today, Atlanta is a little tougher than the marshmellows the Cats have been playing. The real indication of the Cats being real will come with upcoming postseason rival Giants.

I hear ya Jackman...I'm just hoping the Panthers can go 3-3 over these last 6 games...I gotta feeling they are gonna lose to the Falcons today, they are desperate and are gonna play hard after Carolina whooped them earlier this year...And like you said, the Panther's schedule is pretty tough from here on out...4 of 6 on the road, yikes!!...Also, that was a great win for the 'Cuse yesterday...ND sux but you know what the 'Cuse has been like for awhile now...That was a feel good win, that's for sure...

There is no reason or incentive to sign now - finsh the season, test the free agency waters and take the best deal - this is still a business and the only loyality from the owners is for production and the only loyality from the players is money

Perhaps he wants to come play in Atlanta, that way he won't get run over by Michael Turner for two Sundays every season.
