Oklahoma recruit picks Michigan

The Wolverines showed their continued ability to go anywhere in the country and pull prospects when they received the commitment of Tulsa (Okla.) East Central defensive tackle Pearlie Graves last Wednesday. Michigan slid in on Graves, who's right in the backyards of in-state programs Oklahoma and Oklahoma State -- two teams having exceptional 2008 seasons. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound Graves held offers from the Sooners, the Cowboys and Texas Tech. Those teams' impressive seasons could not overcome the vibe Graves felt when he visited Michigan the weekend of the Illinois game on Oct. 4. Graves' mother saw the excitement on her son' face when he returned from Ann Arbor, but advised him to continue evaluating schools. When his excitement persisted, however, she gave her blessing.

nice grab. it all starts with a solid line

November 25, 2008  07:05 AM ET

Now let's get some help for the offensive line.

November 25, 2008  07:43 AM ET

1-2 more years and Rich-Rod will have this thing up and running! If he's given that type of time.

November 25, 2008  08:03 AM ET

Best of luck, hope you love the cold weather.

Old news. Fannation needs to get it together and be a bit more up to date with what they post. This is the internet, right?

FL Safety Vlad "THE IMPALER" Emelien committed yesterday to the neutered Wolverines (I think UM will grow a pair next year!).

But let's be clear that UM will still be young and inexperienced next year. The difference is that these kids "should" form a nice stable foundation to build on. With 6 RS Fresh OL coming online and a stable of two talented fresh QB's that will enroll early should hopefully bring more of an offense even though it was the hapless D that really put the hurt on this team this year.

GO BLUE. Can't wait for Sept 2009!!!

If anyone was paying attention this year, Michigan had a lead in EVERY game with exception to the Ohio St. game. With a bunch of the younger skilled players coming back and 2 quarterbacks coming in that fit RR systems you should start seeing some L's turn into W's. Now, these young players must learn what it takes to win those games.

UM did not lead in the ND game.

Sounds like a solid player. Good pickup for Michigan. I'm just crossing my fingers until Signing Day hoping that Forcier and Beaver honor their verbals, because I damn sure can't watch the Threet and Sheridan comedy of errors again next season.

oh ya forgot about that **** show, thanks for the corrections

You can recruit whoever, you are all still LOSERS. You can win every game (WHICH YOU WON'T) when you get "his guys", but you won't beat OSU until Pryor leaves.

Michigan......Property of Tressel

November 25, 2008  11:04 AM ET

For those thinking Forcier is some savior, LOL what are you guys smoking. His brothers have all came out over hyped too. They are home schooled, and play in a pansy conference in Cali. His brother just transferred from UM a few years ago. Forcier will get crushed just like Sheridan did. scUM is DOOMED.

You hired that snake, now live with your 4th choice of a coach. What a weasel he is, but a great fit ;)

42-7

1830 days since scUM's last win. Going to be over 2000 soon enough. What a joke you weasels are.

November 25, 2008  11:41 AM ET

TP2=Heisman,
A bigger joke is when you actually have the horses to win a NC but you poop the bed against USC and PSU...wasnt this your year? You get to play the other let down now, GA. I hope UGA rolls you guys.

Good get big blue, lets get one more DT, i think his name is, BIG WILL CAMPBELL from DETROIT CASS TECH

TP2, thank you for telling us all how you want to get on your knees for prior. I bet he'd like that. We are a joke? Gee, we can beat an SEC team. Florida was a cake walk last year in that bowl game. You OSUers are so proud because youve been hot against U of M as of lately. WE STILL ARE THE WINNINGEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL PROGRAM. And that really bugs you huh? So stop the scUM comments, its not gonna make your d#@& grow any bigger, you'll have to make use of the 2 inches god gave ya F*ckeye! Oh im sorry... THE F*ckeye. That whole "THE ohio state" line is so lame. THE team that cant beat anybody from the SEC. THE team that wasted four hours of my life two years in a row with those NC games. Looked more like a Pop Warner game to me.

November 25, 2008  12:25 PM ET

Grow up, TP2=Heisman 09. Yes, the Buckeyes OWN Michigan.......the rest of the country outside of the state of Michigan already knows that. What's the point of spewing your garbage in your posts above?

I think its great that the Big Ten can grab players in enemy territories. But that being said, I'm still convinced the Wolverines signing Rich Rodriguez was a huge mistake and even though the die-hard Michigan fan will refuse to admit this, the Wolverines will not win the Big 10 as long as he is in control of a once proud football program. West Virgina-style football doesn't work in a smash-mouth conference like the Big Ten.....and it will never work.

November 25, 2008  12:46 PM ET

Rodriguez will get about 2-3 years to turn the program around. If he has another stinker of a season next year he will probably be looking for another job lest UM want to have their own version of Coach Cooper.

TP2 speaks for a very, very small percentage of OSU fans. Don't stoop to his level, you sound just as bad. I for one am glad to see Michigan take top recruits from other areas.

the process is well at hand watch michigan fans slowly but surely they will be back in contention for championships and you fans calling for his head will soon realize it was your head they should have been calling for
