Boozer in Knicks' future?

One league executive said the Knicks' chances of signing LeBron James will hinge on whether they can add another star player before the summer of 2010 or a attract a second free agent in 2010 as a package. Carlos Boozer is a free agent this summer and the Knicks would have room if they trade Eddy Curry by February for an expiring contract.

I recomend Walsh for a GM award when he makes that Curry trade.

NY will never run out of stories to make up. One story that they didn't really bring up yet is Kobe. Kobe also has a chance to play for NY. Kobe has relations w/ D'Antoni and they always have been good friends.

I like Boozers' game but I am not sure about this rumor. Everything the Knicks seem to be doing is contingent upon 2010, not 2009, so I can't see them making a splash for a free agent this summer even if it might help their chances of landing LeBron James.

I co-sign that. If he can find a taker for Eddy Curry then he has to win that award no matter what their record is at the end of the day.

lol...the post...

I mean- the plan all along has been to get under the cap for
the LBJ FA class- not sure what has changed mid-stream to
warrant this article.

PS- didn't boozer 'bail' on LBJ & the cavs to go to Utah-??
sure it was business....but I'm sure it left a small aftertaste
in LBJ's mouth & might work as a deterrant in this case

Anyone that could trade Eddy Curry's **** deserves some kindof major award

Finally someone else sees what I've been saying for years - Eddie Curry is trash.

I agree. If they can find a sucker who will take Eddy Curry then they deserve front office of the year immediately and the team that takes Curry should have their front office fired for incompetency.

Any deal that's contingent upon Eddy Curry is probably not worth writing about. Having said that, someone will eventually begin believing that he can succeed where everyone else has failed, and take a chance on this knucklehead. The upside is that his next stop will be his last.

I really dont see Booz going to the Knicks, not trying to be naive. I just think he will stay in Utah. Boozer has flurished in Utah while healthy, along with Deron they make a pretty good pair.

November 25, 2008  09:19 AM ET

If someone doesn't light a fire under Curry, he won't be in the league in 2 years.

Reporters playing GM never works out and they can't be fired if they what they claim never comes true. Verdict: Rumor.

You actually think Boozer cares about his Utah teammates? You already forgotten how he screwed over Cleveland when he left there? He had Lebron as a teammate and he screwed them over so bet on him screwing over utah.

November 25, 2008  09:50 AM ET

Didn't they already try LeBron and Boozer? That didn't work out. Boozer is good where he is in Utah with the Jazz, they are one of the best teams in the league.. if only they could win some on the road. Getting rid of Curry will mean NY can do some serious FA signing.. I like the idea of Bosh, LeBron AND Nash.

November 25, 2008  10:14 AM ET

I have been a Knick fan for more than 30something years and I hope that they can finally bring in a big name (with talent). NYK have money always have but upper management was always the problem. I think Stern wanted the Knicks to be a player again and helped dumbass Doylan bring in Walsh to turn this pathetic franchise around.

November 25, 2008  10:28 AM ET

Booz left Cleveland the first time because he didn't want to be shadowed by Lebron. What makes anyone think that he would want to be shadowed by Lebron in NY. He knows he'd only be the Pippen to the Jordan.

November 25, 2008  10:31 AM ET

Boozer looked awsome against Yao Ming in the playoffs a few years ago. I expected more from him after that. I guess he only picks on tall, slow moving Chinese guys.

so if they can't sign lebron without another star in the city, what makes them think they can sign boozer away from utah, or even miami, 2 cities with stars on the roster, and convince him to go somewhere with absolutely zero help. the logic of this scenario is lacking.
