Orioles preparing to clean house
The Orioles definitely will try to deal Steve Trachsel and underachieving Jay Gibbons, and might consider moving Miguel Tejada if he is healthy and can still bring a strong return. However, most interesting is that Baltimore might consider dealing talented-but-erratic Daniel Cabrera, especially if it would help land Maryland native Mark Teixeira from Texas.

The Dodgers??? three highest-price free-agent buys have been busts. Jason Schmidt (three years, $47 million) was 1-4 with a 6.31 ERA before being lost for the year with a torn labrum. Juan Pierre (five years, $44 million) was ranked 169th out of 181st in the majors in OPS (.639). Nomar Garciaparra (two years, $18.5 million) had one homer in 260 at-bats.
Please O's, build an organization. Even if you could out-spend the Yanks/Sox, look what you could be getting. Mid-market franchises can compete (Detroit, Cleveland, Minnesota), but only by being smart with their resources and talent.

Why do you have to post this? This has been obvious since LAST YEAR! Of course the Orioles are going to trade away all their talented players and make a run for Mark Teixiera though it doesnt make much sense to me.
