Taylor on the way out in Jacksonville?

With Jags coach Jack Del Rio vowing to make major changes in the offseason (and assuming that Del Rio himself isn't one of the changes), running back Fred Taylor could be on his way out. Taylor's recent comments calling the 2008 version of the Jags the worst team on which he ever has played likely won't help his cause. But the 11-year veteran wants to stick around, even though he senses that the end is coming.

The texans need a good running back and you want be the feature back BUT you will get enough touchs...........we'll trade RB Brown and Green

Eleven years as a RB - amazing - isn't the average about 5 or 6? - anyways - Happy Thanksgiving to all - peace

Well Mr. Fred Taylor is a really cool dude. Really is. Life has no promises things of that nature - other than death and taxes. A truly great running back. Will the Jags keep him.....I SAY YES. Simply because he has been the franchise. Not Brunell as some would say....close but Mark did not have the longevity of being there. As long as Fred is happy then I am very happy for him. A truly great inspiration for ALL young players around the country. He is a company man. A toast to Mr. Fred Taylor on this Thanksgiving Day 2008!!

Fred has been a top 5 back his entire career and his numbers are greater than a lot of people already in the HOF. He has played behind a make shift offensive line this entire season and neither he or Jones-Drew are putting up a lot of numbers.......I found it hard to blame the backs when they get no blocking. It would be foolish for Jacksonville to push him out when he still have a lot to give........Improve the offensive and defensive lines and the Jags will be back to a contending team.....if the Jags GM and Coach cant see this, then they are the ones who should be pushed out.

Underrated.

November 27, 2008  05:04 PM ET

Underrated put him as second RB and give MJD first then you wont have to lose him.

top 5 back doesn't get you into the HOF. no super bowls, no mvps (i think). at some point you gotta be on top to be in the hall. and don't send me career numbers i already know.

Atleast he wasn't lying.. This has been the worst team he has ever played for. I hope he goes to a team and they put together a successful two back system and he can get a ring.

If Marion the barbarion still has a flat tire next week......maybe he would want to come on over to the Cowboys this year. They might need him lol

November 28, 2008  07:18 PM ET

I had Fred on my Fantasy Team when he was a rookie and he won me 1K...wow, how time flies!!

November 28, 2008  07:53 PM ET

Well the Cowgirls aare deperate for a running back, maybe JJ has some draft picks left after his brilliant move for Roy Williams...LOL

November 29, 2008  10:06 PM ET

Yep sounds like it will happen but would be a big mistake hes got a good 4 or 5 more years left in him. He will get pushed out due to age yet plays better than guys much younger than him.

Stupidity has infected the Jaguar organization and the desiese seems to be running deep. Might need a front office amputation.
