Bulls keeping eye on Kaman

The Bulls would be interested in Chris Kaman and will be monitoring that situation. As of now, word around the league is the Clippers want to see how it works with Kaman, Zach Randolph and Marcus Camby. Here's a prediction: Badly. So I personally believe Kaman might be made available at some point. Whether or not the Bulls have anything to interest the Clippers is another story.

"Whether or not the Bulls have anything to interest the Clippers is another story." Good point. Once Camby, Randolph, and Kaman become comfortable together, this should be a formidable front line. If Dunleavy messes this up, he should be run out of town. But it's the Clippers , so anything can happen, and most of it is bad.

I am not a Kaman fan but with Camby's injury history they are better off holding on to Kaman.

the clips should move kaman... the bulls have a bit to offer. but if i were the clips i wouldnt want gordon.. with gordon they line up

davis/ gordon/ thornton/ randolph/ camby

looks good on paper but i think davis and gordon will be fighting for shots plus randolph will want his share and then u have davis on the bench.. mayby it would work mayby not.
i say the bulls should package hughes and tyrus in return for kaman and some pieces to make the salaries fit. hughes is a good defender and tyrus if he can get his act together could be explosive of the bench.

clips bulls
camby kaman/ noah
randolph/ thomas gooden/ gray
thornton/ davis deng/ nocioni
hughes/ e.gordon gordon/ sefolsha
b.davis rose/ hinrich

makes both teams deeper and more rounded. bulls need help in the post and clips would become a pretty good defensive team with camby and hughes and plenty of scoring weapons. good trade for both teams

Kamam is a blue collar solid worker, and he should last year what he is capable of when Brand was out. He put up all-star numbers, and I don't think Kaman, Randolph and Camby will work, cause Kaman and Camby haven't gelled and adding yet another big body won't make the situation better. I would try trade Camby before Kaman, but I guess if you leave Kaman and Randolph you are left with two big low post scorers, whereas Camby doesn't need the ball to be effective as such, so it's complicated to see who's going to go.

he showed last year**

November 28, 2008  11:35 AM ET

zach randolph needs camby more than kaman. randolph is a 20-10 guy with a career average of 0.2 blocks per game which is an absolute joke for a guy his size. he NEEDS camby's shotblocking and help defense to cover for his total lack of defense.

November 28, 2008  11:45 AM ET

just for perspective. after 12 games this season, zach randolph has a total of 124 blocks in his career! marcus camby had 285 last season alone.

Absolutely correct. Zach needs a defensively minded center in order to do what he does. That's the biggest reason why he and Curry didn't work in NY. Both are low post scorers but Curry doesn't give a damn about defense.

I'd think about trading Kaman to Miami for Shawn Marion. The Heat want a center, and have been reportedly trying to shop Marion. The Clippers clear up the log jam in the post, and get a small forward who can run with Baron, and defense the matches up well with Camby.

I dont know why the Clippers would deal Kaman since he is improving, Cheap, and almost an allstar, would have been last year if it wasnt for Yao Ming.

I mean this is the same thing the Clippers always do, trade a players that starts to get good and then they leave and just get better and the clippers get the bad deal each time. Havent they learned over the years.

November 28, 2008  01:56 PM ET

ill trade you joakim noah straight up for Kaman....

Kaman is stronger, more well rounded, and doesnt have the atttiude problems....

November 28, 2008  02:08 PM ET

if pax does not make a move now , i dunno what to say, kaman would love to be the top dog int he low post and he could do it in the eastern conference, the bulls have a log jam at guard and they shold ship gordon out if possible bu t i think it will look more like hughes and thomas for kaman to allow noah to play at PF with drew gooden and gray to be the backup center, but i would prefer if gordon left as we need big guards.....

1 Star can NOT when a Championship ask Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, ask the 3 stars on the Celtics they had to have a complete TEAM to WIN a Championship. The knicks MUST decide if they want LeBron for attendance or give him all the MONEY and continue to LOSE

Wrong article ....the one before this one

I wish Heat could get Kaman. They would have the final peace to dominate then. Who would they offer though? Marion maybe...

I think Clippers fans have little to worry about. With the lone exception of unloading the horrible signing of Wallace onto Cleveland for some useful (albeit redundant) parts, Paxson has been unable to move forward on producing a winner in Chicago. If he had the ability to 'play well with others,' Pau Gasol would be a Bull. The problem isn't pieces to trade: it is Paxson's ego. The Bulls have no 3 point threat, no go-to star, no true center (Gray is a solid #2, but that's really all), and are likely to lose Gordon (their only legitimate 6th man candidate) after the season. Acquiring Kaman would be a good start for the organization, but if Reinsdork wants to win, he'll start by putting a winner in charge... Paxson has been given time, and the club has actually declined in depth and (Rose aside) has drafted poorly. Time for a new GM... and I'd hope the club would be looking at adding a big guy like Kaman as a core piece for the franchise.
