Minor Rangers-Red Sox deal tied to Saltalamacchia?

The Rangers, who took Wes Littleton off the roster last week by designating him for assignment, sent the reliever to Boston today for a player to be named later or cash. Could it be a player named Bucholz, Masterson or Bowden? Don't hold your breath. GM Jon Daniels said the player to be named may not be acquired until close to opening day, so the club isn't commenting on much regarding the deal. I suppose if the Rangers could put together a deal with Boston that sends one of their catchers (Jarrod Saltalamacchia or Taylor Teagarden) to Boston for one of the aforementioned pitching prospects, any future considerations regarding Littleton could be dropped, essentially making him a throw-in to a bigger deal. But I don't expect that.

If it is true say bye bye to Jason

I'd like to see them pick him up. From what I have read he's a younger Varatek. I'd give up Bucholz for him but not Masterson. Texas has 3 catchers so they are in a good position to deal.

This would be a perfect move for the Rangers.

You all know that, starting in three years, the Rangers are going to be the best team in baseball forever, right?

Bowden for Salty? LMAOOO

A pitcher with a 3rd rotation ceiling(and in AA) for the "next Varitek"?

Bowden's the most overrated prospect in baseball.

Not to mention that you've been relegated to AAA duty in the TDs.... welcome back to the Bigs.... enjoy your cup of coffee....

When the Braves traded Salty, you would have thought he would have been starting every game last year.... the fact that he wasn't should give anyone pause....

It'd have to be Salty if such a deal went down, because people would lynch JD if they traded Teagarden for anything less than one of the Red Sox better starters. I just think about how well our trade with the Sox for Gagne worked out in our favor and hope that the Sox will be just as generous for a guy like Littleton and maybe Salty.

LOL They all play for the Rangers now. Laird .276 and Teagarden .319.

Bowden's the most overrated prospect in baseball.

uhm he only allowed two runs over 5 IP against one of the better offensive teams in baseball in his first start. Plus he dominated the minors and has a 90= fastball. Hes only 22

If I didn't know better, I could have sworn that you just used a 5-inning sample to make a point that Bowden is good.
