The news that Brian Burke, the Ducks' former general manager, was set to take over the Toronto Maple Leafs hardly sent shock waves through the Anaheim dressing room. Burke, who turned down a contract extension offer from the Ducks and stepped down two weeks ago, will be formally announced as the Maples Leafs' president and general manager Saturday. Ducks Chief Executive Michael Schulman said in a statement, "On behalf of the entire Anaheim Ducks family, we would once again like to thank Brian for his tremendous contributions over the last three-plus seasons."

"Kings OK with Burke's new deal"??

Do you guys purposely screw up stories? This is at least twice you guys have referred to the Anaheim Ducks as the L.A. Kings.

FN needs to hire a new position "Vice President of Proofreading the Titles" .....this stuff happens a lot on here.

Huuuuhhh? Well ..... I'm sure the Kings don't mind that he left either! Why would they?

As for the Ducks? Well .... there's a lot less tear mopping for the cleaning staff after he left town! So .... They're happy too!

Who knows? T&R must think that, with Burke gone, the Ducks are on their way to becoming the Kings!

So the Kings are OK with it, but how do the Coyotes feel? Or the Devils, or the Lightning?

November 29, 2008  07:17 PM ET

The only ones who need to worry are the players and fans of Toronto.

November 29, 2008  09:57 PM ET

November 30, 2008  11:11 AM ET

Maybe T&R meant the the actual Kings of Spain, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Jordan, Thailand, Norway and Sweden were OK with Burke's new deal. Do ya think?

November 30, 2008  12:41 PM ET

Yeah I'm pretty sure the King of Morocco is cool with it... but what about Prime Ministers?!?

November 30, 2008  05:06 PM ET

Lets root for the Leafs to win the Cup soon. Maybe then the rest of SoCal hockey will follow Burke and we'll have teams back in Canada like they should be.

LMFAO do you guys seriously not understand this quote, "Kings OK with Burke's new deal", let me break it down in plain english here we go , watch carefully...

Ducks go quack, kings use to shoot ducks, brian burke came to town and scared the kings away from the PONF, thats right now you understand, Brian"mr.duck" burke, is now away from the pond, soo now the ducks can start shooting at all the other lowly teeams in the west, and if ya dont get it by now, it means the kings can breathe easy because now they have a shot to recruit some of the guys into there neck of the woods, and not have to contend with the ducks having a stronger front office than the white house, and on the flipside, GO LEAFS GO.
