How are we disappointing if we are 8-9 who is the idiot that said that.
Secondly if he is traded better be for a terific player and not a moron type stud!

November 30, 2008  10:28 AM ET

Trade him for a decent big man at the deadline if possible to a contender, then re-sign him as a free agent. If they could pull that off, Miami coud contend a little quicker and provide some added help fo Wade. I think Maimi would be a good attraction to decent free agents.

the Dees, I agree...aren't they overachieving with the crappy lineup (crappy because it's we don't have all the components a NBA team should have, such as a bench, shooters, a center...). Is this Pat Riley making another player on the team the scape goat? Riley had chances to add players...anybody could see this lineup couldn't work...Cook as our outside threat? the guy is terrible....shooting air balls, trying to take the ball to the rim and being rejected...he should be sent to the D-League. DWade, Marion, Haslem are okay...Beasley doesn't have fire to be successful in NBA as of yet...he needs to get more serious. McGloire, lol, Chalmers isn't really a 3 point threat, but looking at baron davis, chris paul, derrick rose, having a great point could change everything and Chalmers probably will never be those..of course riley didn't go after Baron Davis...he knows the value of player...I don't know, but this team has 2 players you can count on and a 3rd and 4th that are some-timey (the latter: Marion/Beasley, the former Wade/Haslem). Start saying what the problem really is: Riley is messed up the Heat roster...Even Spolestra is having better results than Riley with the incomplete team...Riley hasn't made enough moves...Riley said: We have to wait at least 3 months to truly gauge heat --> means Riley should be fired if he couldn't figure the Heat wouldn't be good enough and a trade should have made ASAP for new player can develop chemistry and learn playbook...headline should say riley may cost heat WADE and is wasting years of players in Miami...he's taken heat from champions to d league team...from MIAMI HEAT To Memphis GRIZZLIES...

I would trade marion to the lakers for odom. after all thats is where odom played his best ball

November 30, 2008  11:27 AM ET

If Riley had any sense at all, he would try to keep Marion. Marion is by far the Heats best defender, and this team should find a way to build a foundation around Wade. Beasley and Marion should be a part of that. Having said that, remember you heard it here 1st--Riley Coyote will trade Marion for some inconsequential point guard, and continue in his tradition of foolishness. The Heat will never succeed as long as he's at the helm.

November 30, 2008  11:28 AM ET

I'm going to call it and be the first to say that the Nuggets make a play for Marion. They have wanted him in the past, and now with Billups leading that team to wins, they will probably want to cement their way into the second round.

Nene and Kleiza, perhaps? Miami would get a big man and a shooter to replace Cook who, as someone painstakingly pointed out, has trouble scoring from the outside.

hmm a team wit billups melo marion...that cud happen

November 30, 2008  11:56 AM ET

perfect time to unload marbury for this guy

November 30, 2008  12:04 PM ET

sounds like another way for the Knicks to open up some cap space

both are expiring.....it's a wash-

BUT marion is MUCH MORE valuable as a trading piece than Steph
- teams actually WANT him-
so it would be FOOLISH for the heat to go for steph

I personally think he would be nice for the Spurs-
though not sure what they have to give back though.....

marion for carter... that takes away all defense, forces wade to play shooting guard or carter to play small forward which only makes this team taht much shorter........ that would be a horrible trade

November 30, 2008  12:49 PM ET

This isn't a surprise. Marion wants another monster deal and he's not going to get it.

November 30, 2008  02:33 PM ET

get draft picks for him

November 30, 2008  02:57 PM ET

Trade him for a center, duh.

November 30, 2008  03:11 PM ET

Trade the guy to NY for Starbury. Starbury can turn any team from an average team to a lottery pick team. Starbury has a license to steal. Guy makes $270,000 per game and doesn't play. If I did that a work I would get fired. What a joke of an NBA player. I wouldn't take him if he was the last player left in the universe.
