Pacman impresses Cowboys coaches

Cornerback Adam Jones is taking a serious approach in his return to the Cowboys, secondary coach Dave Campo said Monday. Jones was fully reinstated by the NFL on Monday and is eligible to play Sunday at Pittsburgh if he avoids further off-field incidents and complies with conditions established for him by the league. But Jones' work habits, hustle at practice and attentiveness in meetings has impressed Campo. Jones is expected to play in the defensive substitution packages and return punts Sunday. Prior to his six-game suspension, Jones struggled returning punts, averaging only 5 yards per return. Patrick Crayton, who replaced Jones, averaged 10.4 yards. Jones was better in the secondary - he led the team with 11 pass deflections. He also forced and recovered a fumble, but had no interceptions.

Does this mean that his work habits, hustle at practice and attentiveness in meetings were all less than impressive before? You would think a man with as little "rope" left as Adam Jones presumably does would have been doing all of those things immediately after arriving at Jerry Jones's camp for wayward youth. Any truth to the rumor that the camp has received a reservation for Plaxico Burress?

Pacman.........(sigh)

December 2, 2008  08:13 AM ET

Lemme guess he just collected his 30 day chip? :everyone pat him on the back:

30 days without incident? has it been that long already. probably not.

Off the field, I have nothing to say.

On it...........He was making plays. I am so tired of hearing ppl talk crap about him (Cowboy Fans).....His man to man ability was starting to come out. However, the Cowboys played alot of soft zone with little pass rush. Now the Cowboys are blitzing correctly and playing more man, Pac should do well.

If you replaced a few details in this story, you could have run it a dozen times over the last five years.

The only respose I can think of for this story is to laugh.

we'll see how he performs this week against pitt, i think he'll be alright and be worked in just fine he'll be playing the nickel and will have favorable matchups to get him back acclamated to the speed of the game. IF he can keep his nose clean i see him being a real asset if we can make the playoffs, if we dont he'll have a full off season of workouts and the like and will be back in the groove of things for the start of the season.

If Pac has actually awakened from his slumber of stupidity and realized he is at his last chance of ever playing in the NFL again then he may possibly be of some use. Even if he doesn't start he is good to have for backup IF he can fly right. I'm not sure he will stay out of trouble through the year. Each week he makes it is a miracle.

Nice to see he is doing well. Of course, when he quit carrying a loaded uzi under his uniform, and doubled up on crack and jack prior to practice, it means his return is temporary. I believe the Boys should pick up Plax and maybe a few of the Raiders to round out there jail-house crew........ Go Steelers. Time to kick them Boys all over the field!!!!!!!!

Thanks Plaxico for taking the spotlight off of the Boys!
