Vikings owner Zygi Wilf said his confidence in coach Brad Childress has never wavered this season. When asked whether Childress has his full support moving forward, Wilf said: "Absolutely." Wilf said it didn't bother him when fans were chanting "Fire Childress" at home games earlier this season. "No, not at all, because the coach and his coaching staff had our full support, and (it) never wavered," Wilf said. "It never bothered me." The Vikings got off to a slow start this season at 0-2 but are 7-3 since then. Wilf said the improvement has been the result of a "whole team approach.

sure until the wheels fall of right before the playoffs or during the first playoff game.

who cares?

The next 4 games could change Wilf's mind. If they don't have P & K Williams and lose to Detroit next week they only beat them by 2 in Minnesota earlier), that confidence could disappear pretty quickly. Then they have to travel to Arizona and close out with home games against the Falcons and Giants. Without the Williams', they could easily go 1-3, even 0-4.

uh, the improvement has been the result of a quarterback change...

agreed - it's still all about winning and the money it brings

That picture says: " Why is that bald man looking at me funny momma!!"

Why? This guy simply picked up right where Mike Tice left off. With a VERY talented team that underachieves and can't finish games. Just look at all of their losses. They have had a chance to win EVERY game in the 4th quarter only to cave and make mistakes. What does this guy have to do to get fired? By their own admission they held Jackson when he WAS in the game and refused to open the playbook up for him. They replaced him after he played well against the Colts and was the victim of drops. What happens? They start Frerotte who ROUTINELY makes horrid decisions and gets to keep his job. So what are they left with? A coach who is supposed to be good with quarterbacks who is starting a 37 year old bum, has ruined whatever potential Jackson had (despite what is said, he IS athletic and has a strong arm), and an overrated rookie quarterback from USC. I feel sorry Peterson and that defense.

I know I have a little NYC bias, but normally the "kiss of Support" from ownership quickly translates to the "Kiss of Death" that the Mafia traditionally places on the lips of the soon-to-die.

Or is this Zygi guy completely unlike a Steinbrenner in that regard? Considering the coaches they have had, and their turnover rate... I don't see this guy being a Mara or a Rooney

There are some comments on here about "who cares" etc.... well as we prepare for SD/Raiders to night on NFL network....I CARE. I hate bad teams as they make for bad games (which I end up watching....) It concerns me that the NFC West is so weak, same with the AFC West. Will the day come when we will see a Div winner enter the playoffs with a sub .500 record? What would the league do then? I feel there is a big chasm between the haves and have nots and the league has too many really POOR teams ......

I care.

"the improvement has been the result of a "whole team approach."

And a lot of wins against below average teams. Win two of the next four and they should be in the playoffs. Then lose in the first round. A better QB and my expectations would be higher.

Actually, Houston is already in negotiations with Millen. He's a shoe-in with the Texans.
