07:22 AM ET 12.03 | Washington president Mark Emmert didn't want to say much about the school's search for a new coach Tuesday afternoon, but he made one guarantee. "We're moving along and making some good progress, talking to lots of people, which is what we wanted," he said. And among the latest of the "lots of people" UW has discussed the job with, sources said, is Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, whom sources said flew to Seattle on Monday to meet with UW officials. But after news of his visit to Seattle leaked, Texas Tech athletic director Gerald Myers told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal that he's preparing to offer Leach an extension and a raise, though Myers wouldn't confirm or deny that Leach had interviewed with UW. The paper said Leach is due to make at least $2.65 million next season on his current deal, which runs through 2010.

Pay the man already

December 3, 2008  08:19 AM ET

It would be interesting to see Leach in the same conference as Pete Carroll.

December 3, 2008  08:39 AM ET

Just think if he was in the SEC like TN!

1. If that's in fact BrSee -- Whoa!

2. TTU cannot let Leach out of Lubbock -- Coach Meyers better pay the man!

December 3, 2008  09:01 AM ET

He doesn't want to leave TTU. The whole trip was just to get the AD scared so he can get paid. He's a smart man, he won't leave a state where football rules ALL like in Texas!

He looks like he's God in the pic, lol.

He looks like a god or an avenging angel . . . he appears really intent. No way he leaves TTU (fingers crossed). In Lubbock, he is a star in a football crazed state.

Washington is great job. You have a good fan base, good stadium, good tradition and they can pay you. I hope they can get Leach.

I bet you're a Pitt fan. Not too long ago Pitt was ND's annual whipping boy. Guess your getting in your licks while you can.

Sweet picture. Badass. I wish I would have got my senior pictures done like that.

Yea, its incredible just how bad a job Ty Willingham has done there. I actually thought he would do well there but he has run that program into the ground.
