Beilein's big plans for Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- A tiny, maize and blue storage shack stands directly adjacent to John Beilein's basketball court. Inside his office, Beilein, the Wolverines' second-year coach, beams as he shows off yet another of his innovative tools. Next to the shack, a foldable miniature basketball court sits on top of a coffee table-turned-Lazy Susan. This, Beilein says, is where the master plan for how to revitalize Michigan's downtrodden basketball program undergoes constant construction. The process -- one of Beilein's favorite words -- of fusing his system with the personnel he inherited a year and a half ago has been slow, but he remains confident that the vision he formulates on a surface slightly larger than a Monopoly board eventually will be carried out on courts of the life-size variety.

Hopefully Michigan will get something good out of West Virginia because it sure is not happening on the football field.

Michigan got Fielding Yost from WVU, I would say that was a pretty good grab...

Belein is at least a good human being and good coach unlike the fball head coach who is a good coach but a horrible person.

First year dude. Ya cant freak out and sell all your stock when they take a dive. Ya gotta let them mature a little bit more and then ya got a nice little portfolio.

why...Im guessing its just because he changed jobs... because Im pretty sure that he's never had any off field or personal fiascos that deserve him being called a horrible person

Harris is a G. Sims is pretty sweet too. UM is gonna be ranked for the first time in like a decade

Belein has Class - like the Duke coach and a hand full of others. He keeps his cool and does not appear ticked off when something goes wrong. He's a "mature" professional, and that instills trust and confidence into the players. Michigan played truly a great game and showed everyone what they're capable of. Now they have to build on this and gain consistency. A job well done.

Go blue, those WVU boys will make michigan become a "texas-like" school. Successful in both hoop and football.

Coach Rod's first year with West Virginia, he was 3-8. Next season, 9-4. He'll have Michigan as class of the Big Ten again, if yall are patient with him. As for him being a bad person, yeah, he is that. So be prepared for the discipline level of your football to team to drop.

Beilein is a tremendous coach, and a great person. Yall are lucky to have taken him from the Mountain State. He has already done good things, and Michigan will continue to get better.

I say these things as a proud WVU fan.
