Giants, Marlins talking trade
The Giants and Marlins have discussed a trade that would send talented young left-hander Jonathan Sanchez to Florida for hard-hitting infielder Jorge Cantu. The Giants have inquired about some others who could possibly play third base for them, as well, including the Brewers' superb young shortstop J.J. Hardy. However, it appears Milwaukee has little desire to move Hardy, making the Giants look into Cantu, who was an excellent, low-cost pickup by Florida last year. Cantu batted .277 with 29 home runs and 77 RBIs for Florida after being released by the Reds last winter. Sanchez went 9-12 with a 5.01 ERA in 29 starts for San Francisco.

Can the Giants PLEAAAASE choose an identity. Contender/Pretender. Spend/Sell. ProBarry/AntiBarry. We need a superstar/Dont want a superstar. And dont even get me started on the Zito money. This team has the fans, ballpark, and city to become a powerhouse but instead second guesses itself and loses out on big name guys and throws hundreds of millions on friggen Barry Zito. Tiny Tim best power pitcher since Nolan. And no, Im not a Giants fan. Really.
