Bills coach under fire

In the wake of back-to-back losses where his team managed to score only six points, Bills coach Dick Jauron is starting to come under fire, not only by fans and media, but by his bosses. Following Buffalo's 16-3 loss to Miami in Toronto on Sunday, team owner Ralph Wilson, spoke publicly for the first time in quite a while regarding the Bills' collapse from a 5-1 record to its current 6-7 mark, as did chief operating officer Russ Brandon. "We just didn't play well," Wilson said. "We haven't got the talent. We didn't play well. The coaches? They can't go out and kick the ball. They can't go out and tackle. ... Hey, the way we're playing it's tough to get three points." Brandon, who seems to favor remaining in the background, stepped out in Toronto and called the Bills' performance against Miami "unacceptable." When asked about the status of Jauron, all Brandon would say is that "I think everybody should be under fire in the organization." Jauron is first on the line, and he knows it.

After last year, expectations were pretty high... He simply didn't deliver... I say give him one more year to see if it was really injuries or if it was him...

"I think everybody should be under fire in the organization."....CEO Brandon.
I wonder if he includes himself in that group?

It's the Bills - did they look at their lineup and look at their offseason moves versus the Jets, Patriots, and Dolphins? What did they expect? The other teams got better (or slightly worse in the Patriots case) but the Bills stayed the same.

Russ Brandon should definitely be under fire.

He looks like Mike Shanahan who just hit a crack pipe.

I think expectations were too high. And Trent Edwards hasn't looked the same after that concussion he suffered also.

It's really true.

Think about it, they got off to a 5-1 start, meaning they could go .500 the rest of the year and finish with a 10-6 record. Brady was gone first game of the season opening the door for everyone else, this was the year for them to make a move & they got off to a good start then they shot themselves in the foot. Next year Brady is back, Dolphins are a young team on the rise, Jets will probably add a piece to make a super bowl run for farve. Where does that leave buffalo? in the basement as always.

Not only that but with the team starting this Toronto experiment a playoff game in Buffalo would have went a long way. This franchise is snake bitten or something. i really don't know.

December 10, 2008  08:17 AM ET

if the bills went 8 - 8 this season, everyone in buffalo could have lived with it. however after starting 5-1, everyone dared to dream. and now 8-8 seems like a firing offense.

Sorry, the owner deserves the loss against Miami. Seriously, giving up a December home game and playing indoors in Toronto, that's nuts.

Refresh my memory.....did Wilson have a choice of which home game was to be played in Toronto?

LOL, I was thinking more like the ugly man-baby of Stephen King and Mr. Rogers.

Seriously Jauron, you stink and need to go. The Bills upper management didn't make enough moves in the offseason, and they won a couple VERY close ones earlier. The team then annointed themselves with some BS like "we have the will to win" or some ethereal nonsense to mask the fact that they were getting lucky. They didn't work to get better, and now they are the laughingstock of the AFC East. They need a solid, consistent quarterback and a coach that can get them a lead. Their D is good, special teams is still awesome, and Lynch is a solid top 10 back. But bad coach + bad QB = bad team.

December 10, 2008  09:57 AM ET

Fire Jauron, he look like he is going to cry whenever the camera is on him, he never shows any fire on the sideline. Now the Bills are playing like the wimp he portrays.

Hire Cowher. Let him make personnel decisions and whip Bills into shape. They have some good players; Lynch, Evans, Stroud, Mitchell, and Posluszny, and I think McKelvin is going to be good, but right now they stink, mostly at the top.

Time for Wilson to give up the team. But unfortunately he's going to take it with him to the grave.

But will the cemetery be in Toronto?

December 10, 2008  11:50 AM ET

Juron is a nice guy. But in the NFL it is about winning. I think the Bills need a new coach and a new QB. Heck go after Matt Cassel. They need that fire and ability to beat down teams like that of the Bills of the 90s. Well they could not close the Super Bowls, but at least they got there. LOL!

Defense= Great
Offense= Disgustingly Bad
Special Teams= Good
Kicking= has always been bad

December 10, 2008  12:15 PM ET

Anyone who thought the Bills were for real after a 5-1 start is, like Ramses, is a real ****!

They didn't beat a single team over .500

Jacksonville 4-9
Oakland 3-10
Seattle 2-11
St Louis 2-11
Sand Diego 5-8
Kansas City 2-11

ROTFL - you gotta love some of these pictures

I'm sure coach Jauron did not want to play in the Dome in Canada. That was the most bone headed decision by the Bills Senior Executives. That game took alot of Money away from hard working Buffalo people who have suported that team for SO MANY years.
I wish them well, hope the team gets an owner that will keep the Bills in Buffalo.

God Bless America (USA) and Our Troops
