Does Pacman have trade value?

Even if he doesn't change his ways, Pacman Jones has a certain NFL street value if/when Roger Goodell lifts the suspension. If the Titans cut him, they get nothing. If they shop him, they might squeeze a third- or fourth-round pick out of somebody in a trade. Rest assured, there are plenty of people out there who would be interested ??? at the right price. Some teams would sign Osama bin Laden if they thought he could help in the return game.

Yet another reason why I question whether it is worth following the NFL these days...

June 25, 2007  08:32 AM ET

Its a shame that he is actually a good player, so that means some dumbass is going to pick him up. I think he represents everything that is wrong with pro sports and should be made an example out of, but if he is allowed to play someone will pick him up for sure. Trade value , however, is minimal in my opinion. he will be on such a short leash that if he coughs too loud near a cop he will be booted from the league. far too risky to be worth much.

June 25, 2007  08:37 AM ET

Are you kidding me? As long as Al Davis is alive, idiots like Pacman will have the chance to play somewhere.

June 25, 2007  08:58 AM ET

A fourth or third rounder? The Bengals will give up two first rounder for that kind of rap sheet!

June 25, 2007  09:13 AM ET

maybe he needs a year in the cfl.

the guy is any team's pain in the ****

June 25, 2007  09:16 AM ET

Hey joec!

Never mind idiots like Al Davis.

I think Pacman, and Tank for that matter, look like they will fit right in with the Patriots..........

THE STEELERS SUCK

June 25, 2007  09:28 AM ET

keep him out of ATL, NY & MIA...or all NFL cities w/ an abundance of strip clubs.

June 25, 2007  09:34 AM ET

Was it really necessary to drop the bin Laden reference? I could have done without that, personally.

June 25, 2007  09:34 AM ET

Dallas would take him. Hey, him and Micheal Irvin can hang out and then go over to Nate Newton's place.

June 25, 2007  09:35 AM ET

Send him to Green Bay. The only thing stripping down to nothing there is Brett Favre's production.

June 25, 2007  09:40 AM ET

BuckeyeSteeler7 - now THAT was funny...
Dratcliff - you're obviously a very deep, insightful person with boundless wit.
Buck Em - Pacman would have to play for an expansion team in Kuwait before finding an NFL city without a strip club!

Pacman is his own worst enemy - I just don't see him ever divorcing his crew. Sadly, it's true - some other team will think they can handle him, think he's learned his lesson, blah, blah, blah. The story just gets more tragic.

June 25, 2007  09:49 AM ET

Crap.....Charles Barkley says Houston has the best strip clubs.

June 25, 2007  10:17 AM ET

I think the league's marketing group needs to come up with a plan on how to make teams look like 'the bad guy' by signing these losers...

that is teh only way to get these losers out of the league....

June 25, 2007  10:30 AM ET

I'm hoping Goodell follows through on reports that the NFL might start holding teams semi-accountable for failure to reign in the bad behavior of their players, especially when they sign known bad apples. So if teams want to fill their rosters with talented bad seeds they can, but they'll pay the price when the arrest reports start rolling in.

This makes absolute sense to me: Teams can/will still take a chance with a player with a risky past, but the whole "As long as he helps us on the field, it doesn't matter what he does off it" mentality that makes teams sign ex-cons and girlfriend beaters and give players 4th and 5th chances will be gone or at least reduced.

June 25, 2007  10:57 AM ET

The Titans and everyone else who follows football knew that Pacman had many issues at West Virginia.

If you look.....Pacman and Chris Henry went in the same draft from WV.....Quincy Wilson, 4th string TB from the Bengals keeps getting arrested. He is from WV too.....

While they are all connected by the same School....This doesn't apply to everyone.....Marc Bulger went to WV....But I'm just sayin!

June 25, 2007  11:14 AM ET

He doesn't have trade problems but the Titans have a player that they'll be giving away because all the teams want him but they don't want to pay for him because of the high risk.

June 25, 2007  11:23 AM ET

WM79 is right. He's a great player, but a serious financial liablility.

June 25, 2007  11:32 AM ET

Is he that great? He had a good year in '06, but he's definitely not worth the headaches. Anyone that takes him is an idiot.

COWBOYS WOULD LOVE HIS CHARACTER!
