T.O.: I'm not jealous of Witten

Terrell Owens said he doesn't want to create controversy. Yet that's what the individual meetings Owens, Patrick Crayton and Roy Williams had with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett may have done. The three wideouts met with Garrett at Valley Ranch on Monday to voice their concerns about the offense. Each receiver talked about the quality and number of throws they receive. They also discussed the number of passes quarterback Tony Romo has thrown to tight end Jason Witten. Multiple sources said several players are upset with Romo's practice habits, which they say include forcing throws to Witten and throwing interceptions. Sources close to Witten and Romo said they were taken aback by an ESPN report that said they hold private meetings to create plays. "Tony and I have been friends for a long time, way before either one of us were playing that much," Witten said Thursday afternoon on ESPN-AM (1050). "I don't think we're drawing up many plays together to be completely honest, but I don't think Terrell feels that way. I think he knows he's a play-maker, and we try to go to him, and we have other guys we try to get the ball, too." There is a growing concern among the wide receivers that Romo practices more with Witten and that this could hurt the team's chemistry. There is also a perception among the players that Owens is jealous of Witten's bond with Romo because of the number of the times Witten has been targeted. Owens has been targeted 113 times this season, 11th-most in the league and fourth-most in the NFC. Witten has been targeted 95 times, 12th-most in the NFC. The statistics, registered by Stats LLC, don't take into account whether the ball was catchable. "I'm not jealous of Witten," Owens said Thursday night. "I'm not jealous of nobody. I can take the approach that I got paid, so screw everything, but that's not me."

I wish Jerry Jones would start wearing those mummy masks. I also wish that T.O.'s was more heavily reinforced about the mouth area.

December 12, 2008  05:32 AM ET

btw...American Ninja part 7, starring TO?

December 12, 2008  06:05 AM ET

And these concerns would have come up had T.O. not been on the roster? He's messing with the chemistry. I thought Romo was his boy.

December 12, 2008  06:17 AM ET

The Cowboys were on a three-game winning streak with Romo back. Then the Pittsburgh Steelers show up with their #1 defense and Romo has one bad game.

It's amazing how much the Dallas Cowboys have to kiss TO's *** during media interviews. They always say "he's a play-maker". Wititen has to hold his tongue because TO can't do the same.

Love the comment - it made me laugh.

I am sooooooo tired of the TO routine. At this point, the Cowboys should dump him so he could go be happy for a year and a half somewhere else - before he turns into a team cancer AGAIN.

And, hey, TO, according to English grammar - the line "I'm not jealous of nobody." has a double negative so it actually means that you are jealous of everyone - or at least a lot of people. If you are going to live in our country, learn the language!

TO doesn't have many seasons left in his career. He's 35 years old. I think biological clock is ticking.

LMFAO!

Die hard cowboys fan here but.........

the only balls TO should be worried about catching are DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ in his grill!

hated him since San Fran, never been a fan of his and it pained me to see dumbarse Jerry Jones make another dumb decision that not only ruined the locker room but also forced our hall of fame coach Parcells out the door! look at what Parcells has done his whole career and jerry just tells him to go to h-e-double hockey sticks? jerry jones is a moron and when TO retires in two years we'll be further behind and stuck with a number 2 WR playing the #1 in Roy Williams, we will blow our draft picks again as we have whenever Jimmy Johnson and Parcells havent done the picking.

at this rate i just might switch favorite teams....ah what the heck im now a LIONS fan!

ok, its not that bad yet but who knows

Awesome comment!!! It pretty much sounds like T.O.'s maturity level.
