The Yanks must get one of these two guys to make-up for the loss of Abreu's (Mr. Pass the Buck) production and to ease the pressure of A-Rod.

If the Yankees don't sweep the ALDS, ALCS, and the World Series in 2009, there will be a federal investigation at this point. Their roster is ridiculous and more pick-ups are coming soon. Ughhh...

I would say so. But they need a first baseman, not a leftfielder. If they get Manny, what happens to Damon and or Matsui? All three can't play together. Yes, New York needs a hitter, but you can only have one DH.

I am praying Manny goes to the Yanks, and makes a mess of their clubhouse. With all the egos on that team, Manny's me-first behavior will drive them nuts. It will be a pleasure to watch. Sort of the Cowboys of MLB.
As for Tex's best chance at a World Series ring, it's in Boston. The Bronx Bombers are going to implode from all the money they are spending due to the team getting old (hello Johnny Damon), and when CC and Burnett do not have the production they are expecting for the number of years they are paying for it will just add fuel to the fire.

Absolutley ridiculous that they would be able to afford either in this economy. The more they spend, the more their own fans will start to hate them when it comes to ticket and food prices. And if they dont win. There could be a riot at the new stadium. Its time baseball addresses a cap situation. Get ticket prices back to normal and get teams on an even playing field on and off the field. I propose a high/low cap. Low cap for the (royals/marlins/nationals, etc..) 75million. High cap (Yankees/Redsox/Dodgers) 150million. There is now reason that couldnt work, if owners cant afford the low cap, sell the team or move them.

More ephing Yankee braying to drive up the market price. What is every numnut Yankee fan gonna say when they don't make the play-offs again. Who they gonna blame then. Sox in '09.
