08:50 AM ET 12.15 | The news wasn't good at the NHL's board of governors' meeting last week. A third of the league's teams -- Atlanta, Carolina, Columbus, Florida, Nashville, New Jersey, the N.Y. Islanders, Phoenix, St. Louis and Tampa -- are having attendance problems and are in deep trouble. Unfortunately, there's not enough room north of the border to relocate all of them.

i still dont c whats wrong with moving a team to Milwaukee, they do have an AHL team the Milwaukee Admirals (Affiliates to the Predators) and the attendance is thru the roofs, truth is.. people in Wisconsin LOVE hockey, Bettman needs to get his head out of his **** now and realize this...

I still don't see why Milwaukee is out of the question. The have an AHL team, the Milwaukee Admirals (affiliates with the Nashville Predators) and the get a packed house almost every game, he says he can't move north of the boarder wich is bull but he could still go to WI people here love hockey no matter what anyone else says, and proof of that is the fan clubs of both Ryan Suter o ya, and a guy named Joe Pavelski

Milwaukee makes sense. I know there is a proximity law in the NHL. I'm not sure if that applies to Milwaukee with it being so close to Chicago. I grew up playing hockey and would love to see a franchise come here. There are very knowledgeable hockey fans in Wisconsin and if you've ever seen a Badger hockey game you'd know that Wisconsin would support a franchise.

Milwaukee gets overlooked because the TV market is small. But what everyone seems to overlook is PRO sports in any city in Wisconsin become a STATE team. Green Bay has a statewide following - including 2 games a year held exclusively for Milwaukee season ticket holders. NHL is not looking at the big picture. College Hockey is big in Madison and the Admirals have done well over the years. Also - the Milwaukee/Green Bay - Chicago rivalry is big. Just look at Cubs/Brewers and Packers/Bears. Proximity is a good thing in this case.
