Romo, Witten skip T.O.'s birthday bash

Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens may have been booed at Texas Stadium on Sunday. But his head coach, his family, the city of Dallas and the majority of his teammates rallied around him Monday night at his annual birthday party and celebrity fund-raiser at the Gaylord Texan's Glass Cactus Nightclub. Among the celebrities in attendance were singer Solange Knowles, comedian Guy Torrey -- who served as the master of ceremonies for the live auction -- actress Jill Marie Jones and actor Carl Payne. Actor Will Smith sent a special birthday message, and rapper Ludacris was expected to perform at midnight. Owens was given the official key to the city of Dallas by city officials. However, considering the events of the last week -- when Owens was involved in a controversy with tight end Jason Witten and quarterback Tony Romo, the headliners Monday night were his teammates and coaches. Romo, who is suffering from a back injury sustained against the Giants, was a no-show at press time, along with Witten, who is also nursing injuries.

Wow that is some lineup of "celebrities"! Were they casting for a new season of The Surreal Life on the Irrelevant Channel?

Romo could barely walk after the game. I don't think he needed to be at a party.

December 16, 2008  06:41 AM ET

The T.O channel on my cable system covered the entire party. You could see that T.O was upset about this while playing "pin the tail on the donkey" (they used a picture of Jerry's face instead) and he almost started crying when someone asked him about Romo while he was cutting the cake.

He may be an **** but I bet he throws one heluva party!

December 16, 2008  07:21 AM ET

What would FN do without a daily T.O. thread?

December 16, 2008  07:21 AM ET

headline correction:

" Waaaaaaaaahhhhhh "

Ditto for Witten with his injuries that include broken ribs. A short week doesn't leave much time for partying!

outside of luda, seems like a pretty drab celeb turn-out

December 16, 2008  07:52 AM ET

Blah blah blah...slow news day for fannation

December 16, 2008  07:54 AM ET

Pretty appropriate for TO to throw himself this huge bash given how he acts as bad as those spoiled girls on the MTV Super Sweet 16 show.

December 16, 2008  08:13 AM ET

December 16, 2008  08:28 AM ET

Something tells me TO will shed many tears about this.

And before a Cowboys fan starts making fun of me, congrats, you looked great Sunday night, big win for you guys.

It takes you a minute too read that?

Why doesn't this headline read -

"Romo & Witten don't attend Owens party due to not Liking him"

Why would they want to hang around a loud-mouthed, self-hyped, over-rated, selfish loser who should maybe be working on his hands instead of hosting parties?

Anyone else notice in Sunday night's game?.... nice catch T.O. on that easy first down.... or how about the time he did catch the ball, and then slipped trying to make a move instead of knowing where the 1st down marker was and easily securing the first down.... both these errors resulted in the Cowboys having to punt...

no wonder he throws to Witten.... he can catch better and gets first downs
