ASU off in-state recruit's list?
Arizona State appears out of the picture in maybe the biggest football recruiting sweepstakes ever in Arizona. At least for now. On Wednesday, Phoenix Desert Vista five-star defensive end Devon Kennard, one of the top-rated prospects in the country, said he's narrowed his choices to Southern California, California and Texas. He didn't mention ASU or UCLA, which were the other two he had listed last summer when he had narrowed a huge list of suitors to five. He took official recruiting visits to Cal and USC and will take one this weekend to Texas. He said that may be his last official trip. "I've not completely canceled ASU," the 6-foot-3, 257-pound high-academic athlete said. "Everything about ASU I know. If I decide to take that route ... otherwise ..."

If he's so smart, he'll want to win.................... sounds like USC not Cal.

His old man played for the Cowboys so don't count out the Longhorns but all indications are he is committing to USC

Justafan: if he's so smart he would realize that he would be 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th string based on past USC recruits. If he and the rest of the USC (or Florida or Texas or overhyped College Team) 5 star recruits are smart, they would realize they can be a BIG fish in a smaller pond versus being just like the other 5 star recruits on the current team vying for PT. If he chooses Texas or USC, he's NOT so smart.

Two sides to every coin. On the flip side, you can consider it a massive challenge. If he plays really well, he'll see lots of game time. The recruiters in the NFL know this. If you're a competitive person, then your best fit is at USC or Texas.
