Stafford, Moreno seek NFL feedback

Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno, whose stay-or-go decisions continue to captivate Bulldog Nation, have asked the NFL's draft advisory board for guidance. Stafford and Moreno -- Georgia's junior quarterback and redshirt sophomore tailback, respectively -- have petitioned the panel for a projection on where they would be picked in the 2009 draft. Both players repeatedly have said they are undecided on whether to enter the draft. Most media-generated mock drafts have Stafford a top-five pick, possibly the No. 1 pick, and Moreno also a first-round pick. "We'll see [what the advisory board says]," Stafford said Wednesday. "I'm not basing my whole decision on that." Junior cornerback Asher Allen said he, too, is considering an early departure from Georgia and has asked the NFL advisory board to evaluate his draft status.

Easy, go! This was supposed to be your year and you face planted. Next year there will be a rookie salary cap.

Of course a gator whould be making that comment. You guys are toast next year for those timeouts Urban called! Richt's going to actually have a D-line and crush whatever crap replacement for Tebow you offer up.

I would go back to college if I found out I was likely drafted by the Lions.

December 18, 2008  09:36 AM ET

Jump ship!!!

December 18, 2008  09:52 AM ET

At least Stafford will have Calvin Johnson to throw to when he gets picked up by the Lions.

I'm a Bulldog fan and I'm apathetic toward the whole thing right now. Stay or go.

GatorBaitor, it wasn't all Stafford or Moreno's fault we face planted this year. It was the weakness on both defensive and offensive lines. Injuries and lack of depth at those positions killed us.
Not to mention linebackers and D-backs thinking that a shoulder block is a tackle...game after game after game.

First, the rookie salary cap in 2010 is not a guarantee.

Second, some media sources are reporting that a rookie cap would not affect the 2010 class.

Third, I can see them going either way. Supposedly Stafford has been told by the Mannings (Archie, Peyton and Eli) to stay. Considering their experiences, I would listen and have that carry a lot of weight. As for Moreno, a RB should go if a first round pick.

If a player isn't in the top 5, there's probably a good chance they go to a decent team. I heard Detroit might be going for linemen and for that I hope Andre Smith doesn't go pro, but if I were in his shoes, I'd still probably go.

December 18, 2008  10:41 AM ET

It's like a dream come true, Stafford and Moreno go, Tebow and Harvin are feeling out their NFL prospects. If all 4 went it would be magical. Unfortunately, both teams will probably beat Tennessee again next year.

December 18, 2008  10:57 AM ET

Both of them are first rounders. They should go.

Plan on stomping in the endzone again? How'd that workout for you?

Where are you going to get the D-Line from, Bama? You guys couldn't stop a runny nose this year. GT had to use a supercomputer to calculate their rushing yardage against your line. Maybe another year of experience will keep everyone below 300 yds rushing against you.

Didn't mean to imply it was their fault.

Stafford is a talented QB with an NFL arm and Moreno is a stud with a work ethic I enjoy watching.

My point is, I don't see the stars lining up for them to improve their draft status, so why wait?

Uhhh...I'd say the endzone stomp worked out pretty well that year. We won didnt we? LOL. As for where we will get our D-line....off the injury report for one....maybe the same place you got yours from after last year, right?

Lastly, get a job. No one posts on these boards as much as you do.

I am a sooner fan and moved back to India. I haven't seen Stafford play. Saw Bradford play on the web. Has anybody seen both of these guys play?? Who is better? I read about even Bradford being the no.1 Quarterback being picked in the coming draft. So any comparison between these 1 Quarterbacks? Who is better?

December 18, 2008  12:26 PM ET

coltsbob....yeah I've watched them both. Stafford has the stronger arm...Bradford has better accuracy and seems to make better decisions.

Stomping on the endzone got you butt handed to you THIS year.

I will have to give you this, when you lost this year, you lost big, and left no doubt the other team was better.

Dust off those black jerseys and get your stomping shoes out 'cause you're going to need everything you can muster to overcome your heartless lineup.

Heheh, nice. I think any team that wants to draft a QB in the first five picks is pretty desperate, but the Lions are so woe-begotten that a new QB would get pummelled like David Carr anyways.

No Florida being the better team is what beat us this year....didnt really have anything to do with your emmarassing year last year....why would it? Different year/different team. Clearly it got to you a little bit though. LOL....I've got no issue with admitting the gators were better this year, thats obvious.....just like last year it was obvious who the better team was.

Your job is handling dog balls all day? LOL....sucks to be you. Better get back to it, those balls arent going to cup themselves now are they?
