Vince Young sues friends for trademark

Titans quarterback Vince Young has filed a lawsuit in Houston against three individuals who applied for the trademark "VY" and "INVINCEABLE" after Young guided Texas to the national championship in 2006. Young wants them to relinquish the trademark so he can use it. The third-year pro has been prevented from getting marketing deals, including some that were in the works for Reebok, Young's agent said Wednesday. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court on Dec. 12 against Rodney Vannerson, Enos Cabell and Tom Roberson, listed as "three friends." "Vince is aware of it and he is the one who wanted to really pursue it because it's been a part of him since he was playing in high school,'' agent Major Adams said. "It is standing in the way of some things Vince wants to do. Even Reebok wanted to do some VY things and they had to back off because of litigation.''

I was misinformed. I thought that you had to be a star player (or at least a starting player) in the NFL before this kind of thing mattered.

Vince Young sucks anyways.

Well...he can still use "GAY"...I don't think that's been trademarked

What I don't get is, if he is INVINCEABLE, then why does any of this efffect him? He shouldn't even pay any attention to it.

Vince needs to worry about re-gaining his career. If you're on the bench, no one will care what you call yourself.

Who's hating on Young? He has a 69 QB rating. What's there to hate?

Yeah but that's got nothing to do with him being able to do business and make money off his name if people are interested in him.

doesn't this guy has enough on his plate already?

My point is, no one will be interested in him if he keeps his 69 QB rating. If he cares more about marketing deals with Reebok, then that's fine and I respect that. By all means, get as much money as you can, while you can.

Naw, it doesn't take much to hold the clipboard right now.

Well, it is difficult to be a professional athlete and make millions of dollars when the unemployment rate in this country continues to skyrocket. Waaaahhhh!!!!

Yea he can get shirts made that say VY is INVINCEABLE, unless an ex racist white guy comes in and takes his life away... Lets be serious, people on here are hating on him because he makes it so easy, he lost his job and ran around giving the impression he might kill himself, scored a 4 on the Wonderlic or howevery you spell it, then his agent protested it, he got the same exact test and was able to raise his grade to a 6 (thats out of 50... so on the biggest test of his life he would of had an 8 by normal scoring... and practice questions and exams are all over the place), which tied him for the lowest in the tests history... His biggest enemy is himself...

unless an ex racist white guy comes and takes his life???? ****??? What the hizzell are you talking about?? People say the dumbest ish i've ever heard in my life on here...

Mabye he's just preparing himself for the future... Obviously he sees a return to stardom in the near future, so he's just taking care of business. Having lawyers file a lawsuit takes up none of his time. So hop off his nizzuts as fast as you jumped on them...

I would love to know who would buy anything with Vince Young tied to it?...

Maybe anti-depressant pharmaceutical companies...

I was thinking the same thing...Vince should be flattered that anyone has any interest left in him, that they would trademark something tied to him..

I think if they used "Vince Unable" for their trademark, they'd have a stronger marketing case. I would like to see him return to being a decent game managing QB, but he's been a joke this year. The team's better without him, and he's a drama princess.

"Even Reebok wanted to do some VY things and they had to back off because of litigation.''

So when did "litigation" become the new word for "the fact he sucks"?
