Gordon won't rule out Bulls return

07:17 AM ET 12.18 | Ben Gordon always has stated his belief that he's a starter, and he's starting. This Bulls season is all about who fits with Derrick Rose, and Gordon, averaging a team-high 21 points, has played well alongside the dynamic rookie. With things seemingly going so well, is it possible Gordon could re-sign with the Bulls when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer? The popular belief when Gordon didn't sign the Bulls' long-standing offer of six years and roughly $54 million last summer was that Gordon would be as good as gone next summer because of bitterness or lingering bad feelings. Gordon quickly dismisses such talk. "I'm not ruling anything out at all," Gordon said before the Bulls' 115-109 overtime victory over the Clippers on Wednesday night. "My focus right now is to play well, help the team win games and stay healthy. That's a long time from now. But I've always said I'm happy here, and that hasn't changed."

I hope he leaves just to show Chicago what they had, and didn't want to pay for...

i don't like this guy and i don't even know why

I don't know but Chicago disrespected him by picking Deng over him and pay him the minimum for 1 year. I believe he has proven himself w/ the Bulls the last years he had played there. He was a runner up as Rookie of the Year. I don't know. Take your options somewhere else. Teams will vie for you.

I dunno man.... I hear ya... I really do. But up until this season Deng had shown he was the best player they had playing on both ends.... Ben Gordon only showed he was offense, offense, offense.... hindsight is 20/20, but you gotta admit. With what you had to look at, Deng was the smarter sign at the time -- a 30+ minute player vs your 6th man. Derrick Rose's speed and ability have made Gordon even more potent on offense, so it may change things considerably now -- but now is too late...

Chicago did the right thing. He is a good player but undersized in NBA for his position. He OVERESTIMATED his value and wanted BIG DOLLARS which no one would give him. Maybe Knicks HEHE.

Have to respectfully disagree with you there..he is a one dimensional player, yea he can score 20, but give up 30 to his man, and if he were that good, then the Bulls would have not imploded like they did last year...

If he wont rule out a return, then I will!

I know why you don't like BG7. Its because he's a diminuitive, overrated, streak shooting, defensively challenged shooting guard who has a me-first mentality. He's better coming off the bench, but because he's such a sissified crybaby, the Bulls started him. Those are just a few reasons to dislike Ben Gordon.

Gordon has made numerous attempts to put the spotlight on himself by whining and crying about not starting and the BULLS have disrespected HIM? Deng is a complete player, the most complete player they've had since #33 in red & black. Ben Gordon is nothing more than Vinny "The Microwave" Johnson with a jacked up me-first attitude (I meant no disrespect to Vinny Johnson, the Detroit Pistons, the Johnson Family, or Vinny's fans)

hopefully pax doesn't offer him a deal. he wanted 12 mill a year. sounds good for a me first undersized no defense playing guard. for every point he scores...he gives up more on the defensive end. i've seen him "guard" multiple players and IMMEDIATELY the teams go to whomever gordon is supposed to guard. he's cost the bulls games because he's such a liability on defense. i remember the pisstons having billups post him up and gordon looked like he was guarding shaq. it was ridiculous. sorry, if we want to get wade(a dream, but a valid chance) in 2010...we don't want gordon.

Gordon is a loud mouth. Should have taken the deal a couple years ago.

December 18, 2008  11:53 AM ET

Gordon played himself--and if he thinks his newfound resolve will make the Bulls increase their offer, he's sadly mistaken. 6 years and $54 million is more than he will get anywhere else, and he will soon find that out.

December 18, 2008  12:13 PM ET

He's playing better than Deng is and Deng is the one who got the money..

I'll trade you for him. You could have Curry or Jeffries, and I will even throw in a young player as a frequent shopper discount.

December 18, 2008  01:13 PM ET

Gordon is a starter only because he's in Chicago. He can shoot, but his shot selection is horrible when he's not attempting three-pointers.

Apparently no one else wanted to pay for it either, it's not like teams were beating down his agent's door when he was a restricted free agent this summer.

Are you kidding??? They offered him over 10 million per last year and he turned it down.... Read up, he's greedy. Maybe he didnt take it because he wanted to start, none the less, you have to earn it and when ever he starts up until this year he is a cold shooter. He has earned it this year, but is too small to be a 2 guard. If he had Larry Hughe's height, he would be even richer than the 11 million or so per that they offered him last year

Deng got the money only cause Gordon turned it down. Both players had similar offers on the tabel AT THE SAME TIME. Gordon didnt take it and Deng did. Deng is a much better ALL AROUND player
