Does Edwards want out of Cleveland?

In yet another sign of the disaster that is the 2008 edition of the Cleveland Browns, receiver Braylon Edwards sounds like a guy who's trying to talk his way out of town. After Monday night's loss to the Eagles, Edwards suggested that his ties to Michigan football have kept him from being embraced by the folks in Ohio. I've learned being here that I'm very unappreciated," Edwards said. "Not in the organization, just in the eyes of the fans, the city. Since Day One I've been a marked man coming from Michigan. It's just gone that way. Even when things are good, there's heckles." On Tuesday, Edwards continued to chirp. "I'm not Paul Warfield, Webster Slaughter or Jim Brown," Edwards said, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "I've given my all to this city for four years, and I realize it will never be enough. I went to the Pro Bowl last year and resurrected this team from the darkness, and nobody cared."

Mr. Edwards should embrace the idea that maybe it's not him that is being underappreciated, rather it's his uncanny ability to drop passes that is being underappreciated. Then again, he may be attempting to get ahold of the concept but...naw, that's too easy.

He better learn how to hold on to the ball, or he's not gonna find a suitor willing to pay the big money if he decides to leave...

Earth to Braylon.. people boo you because you can't catch a cold this year. Santonio Holmes would be booed too if he played in Cleveland and he had as many drops as you do this year.

December 18, 2008  08:34 AM ET

I would like the eagles to get him but we already have powerhouse receivers like Greg Lewis and Reggie Brown

December 18, 2008  08:35 AM ET

man, if you play good the city will embrace you eventough you are from planet mars

December 18, 2008  08:38 AM ET

Everyone wants out of Cleveland... even James, you cant get treated better then he is...

December 18, 2008  08:44 AM ET

Edwards is going to New York City on New Year's Eve to drop the ball.

December 18, 2008  08:47 AM ET

Here's something to chew. The two local teams I'm stuck with every week are the Lions and Browns. Well at least the Lions get blacked out and I'm given another game .

December 18, 2008  08:54 AM ET

Another TO wannabe without the talent, but same whine! We can all see what a powerhouse the Browns have become since your majesty has arrived. The fans don't get over paid to CATCH THE FOOTBALL and then HOLD ON TO THE FOOTBALL!!!! YOU DO!!!

You obviously aren't too bright.

Edwards would be treated fine if he was performing as well as he is running his mouth. Catch the ball Braylon...and where you went to college will be irrelevant.

December 18, 2008  08:58 AM ET

LOL at how he made it sound like he single handidly resurected the franchise...sure you did Braylon

December 18, 2008  08:58 AM ET

id like to know how he brought the team back from the darkness????? i think d. anderson was the reason for that.... and yes the browns had a much better year then in a long time..... but you still didnt make the playoffs.... so braylon you obviously didnt do enough..... And since when are the detroit red wings not a power house.... theyre the favorite to win the cup for like the 4th year in a row.... i hope the other game you get tang isnt the bungals..lol

December 18, 2008  08:58 AM ET

If he likes Michigan so much, send him to the Lions then.

Exactly. Jamal Lewis was a former Raven and used to destroy the Browns and now the city of Cleveland loves him. Trust me, Cleveland hates the Ravens more than the Wolverines for obvious reasons. Braylon is showing his true colors and refuses to grasp the fact that he has brought this all on himself being the league leader in dropped balls. The Browns would swap Braylon Edwards for Calvin Johnson anyday. He's more than welcome to join the Lions.

Obviously he forgot that the "new" Browns went to the playoffs under coach Butch Davis before he was drafted. How many playoff births have the Browns' received once he joined the team?

Send the idiot to the Lions! Then he can be with his Michigan boys!

December 18, 2008  09:05 AM ET

pull your head out of your a**. you are leading the league in dropped passes.
